baseballsss Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Nice everytime one of these retarded threads are made he seems to kill it next game. My fantasy teams in desperate need of him
Statman Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Because it was f***ing stupid. Well it took 2/3 of an inning for that deleted Jose Reyes thread to come to fruition.
Statman Verified Member Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Why was the Reyes contest thread deleted? That thread was gold in hindsight.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Here is the question, if the Jays are offered a deal which is mainly a cost savings (some small pieces to help the team and/or low level prospects) should the Jays take it? I just don't know if this team should be thinking about downgrading talent at this point. I believe in Baltimore for next year about as much as I did this year, I don't see a standout team in the AL East. I know people are going to say "take the savings and spend it on upgrades" but I really don't think making multiple changes to end up at the same talent pool is what this team needs either. This F.O. and ownership is so much better off continuing to spend and run the business poorly than they are trying to suddenly get smart with their spending.

Would Shields or Scherzer be more valuable to this team then MB or Reyes? I would say yes, and for a little more than what you are paying MB or Reyes you can get one or the other. So doing what you are talking about does not necessarily lead to a talent downgrade. Heck with the way Reyes is going and the frequency he is injured (or playing hurt) it would not be hard to upgrade on him!

I think you're looking at an ERA difference of less than a third of a run.

I think you're looking at an ERA difference of less than a third of a run. It would be interesting if it was Buehrle's last year what fans would be thinking. Almost all would be hoping he accepts the Qualifying offer at 14M and many would be likely wanting him back on 2 or 3 year deals (well he just gave up a 2 run HR as I'm typing so an equal amount probably want him DFA'd). I think the Jays should be considering looking at all trades for payroll flexibility but I don't think they should be "giving" players away to save money.

MrMariusz Verified Member Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 He simply lacks baseball IQ. Would prefer to see him go, just don't give him up for free.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 If only Reyes had better control over sequencing.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I was planning on winning. LOL. Sorry man.
