StiebSlider Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Hey guys new to the site here. Im a pitcher myself in rec leagues, and have been a jays fan for some time now. Just wondering what your guys thoughts are on the disappearance of unique pitching deliveries. Kinda dissapointing in my opinion, always fun to watch something that breaks the stagnant mould of modern pitching. Within the jays, Loup comes to mind for obvious reasons. Janssen out of the stretch with his chin nods to home and slow, deliberate arm movements. Guzman and Stieb had a very whippy/slidy delivery. Speaking of Stieb, he was one of many in the 80's to defy the school of pitch counts and babysitting that rules pitching in the modern era. I understand the game has changed due to the evolution of science and health along with rules in the game, but I miss the abundance of unique pitchers around the league. Just a rant really.... B'rrrrring it back!!!
