kgm1 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Wonder what his innings limit is this year .
kgm1 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 If he is shut down after only pitching 10 innings or so this is stupid .
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Innings limit's supposed to be around 130...he's already at 124 so yeah, dumb.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 You prob won't even see him much. AA likes to do this to let the younger kids get a taste of what it's like to be in the majors, motivation for them. This is nothing new and really not that big of a deal other then the fact we get a sneak peak at the kid.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'd like to see Sanchez, Norris, Nolin and Graveman as SP depth next year. If they could plug one of the holes by trading either Dickey or Buehrle and then signing a FA to upgrade the rotation, it would be great. However, don't think it'll happen so I'll shut up.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Anyone expecting Norris or Sanchez to throw 200 innings next year is crazy. We will be lucky if they had Hutchison type seasons. Odds are one of them gets hurt as well. Expecting 200 innings would be silly, but I would take a stroman type season out of them....Stro looks to pitch in 125 to 130 innings this year. Hutch looks to be in the 190 range this year. I would expect Sanchez to start in the bigs next year. Norris will likely start in AAA. Maybe Sanchez can hit 150 to 170....injuries are difficult to predict....the average rotation in baseball likely had one and half to 2 starters go down this year without looking up the number.

Even if they made him a fixture in the rotation for the rest of the year, best case scenario is what 30-35 innings. For a month that doesn't matter, why not?

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Got a get your feet wet sometime, better to do it now when the kid is rolling then when he is struggling! A inning here or there is not gonna make or break him, if it does it was never meant to be! Is a piggy back rotating rotation not a option? Pair them up start/relief then to the pen for the win.Gives them all about 20 starts and 20 relief innings or let's say about 140 to 160 innings next year! Switch em every 4 or five starts or so. Might work! Question is do we have eight arms to fit this role? Does trading buehrle dickey or Reyes enough to get us the missing pieces to this?
