Meh. It was built nearly 30 years ago. I'm sure old Yankee stadium wasn't exactly a prime example of modernization either.

“Has anyone seen the weight room? It’s about as big as this area we’re in right now, this little room,” said Girardi, gesturing to the crowded visitors’ dugout. “It doesn’t have a SwimEx. It doesn’t have all the modalities. I mean, I told you, I’m concerned about him. I am concerned about him.

"A SwimEx is a small pool that uses jets to create a constant current, allowing users to swim in place. Modalities refers to a variety of treatments including hot packs, cold packs and ultrasound."

Those quotes are telling, are they waiting until Argos move out to upgrade these too? Do everything in your power to make the stadium as modern as possible.

They're not telling about anything. Now if they said something, like it's one of the only stadiums in the majors without those facilities, that would be something to note. The fact that an older stadium doesn't have all the facilities that one of the newest and most expensive parks in the majors has shouldn't be a surprise.

It kind of sounded like Girardi was frustrated at the reporters more than anything, although clearly he doesn't like the weight room.

You can't compare the Rogers centre to Wrigley or Fenway considering both are at least a 100 years old. Rogers can upgrade the facilities even it takes a year or 2. Just do it. Complacency or cheapness, poor management and paying for mouth pieces like Wilner. Rogers needs to put the team up for sale. 21 years!

The beer selection at the Rogers Centre is very underwhelming.

Wasn't the whole point of renovating the Rogers Centre a few years ago to boost the fan experience? Why haven't these idiots address this? Too busy making sure guys from the 500 level don't sneak into the 100 level.

Sure Wrigley is much worse.

Wrigley has an amazing updated clubhouse.

edit...What I read was the proposed clubhouse it hasn't happened yet.

They were talking about adding a visitors weight room this past winter, wonder if that's the one Girardi is bitching about.

Miller Park was built in 2001. They upgraded to include Swimex and other updated equipment in 2008.

It's not that hard.

Seeing as the Jays have a strong flavour of Dominicans on the team I don't know how much the Swimex would get used.

Forgive my ignorance, but does home side / away side have separate gyms? Is the home side different? Is there reason to be concerned that Tanaka can't use a Swimex to rehab in Toronto?
