comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Why did they start Thole ?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Maldito equipo de la mierda!!
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Bases loaded 1 out against a pitcher who barely found the strikezone, and they hunt for pitches like theyre about to die from food starvation. No patience, no runs.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Did that just happen? Finally hit something and it's too hard? They keep finding new ways to lose. I swear we need to do something to appease the baseball gods. This just isn't fair anymore. They need to not start Thole unless Dickey is pitching.I guess Navarro must be wobbly.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Seriously, f***, f***! Respond to my PM you bike!
baubau Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 No clutch. Lose another series. Welcome to 3rd place. At this rate, the Blue Jays could soon be in 4th. The Wild Card is also unlikely as one of Seattle/Detroit/Royals are likely to get it and the A's or Angels have one of spots locked up. E: I hope to god its a gong show going down the stretch and beginning of next year. Will put more pressure on AA/Beaston to get canned. Though its more likely Gibby gets canned and he isn't a bad manager in my opinion.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Now we get to miss Lawrie.

But...........We are competing till the end of September based on what Wilner has told me :-(
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Now we get to miss Lawrie. Lets not use history to project that Lawrie would be missing time this year. After all he has missed time every year,
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 It's kind of ironic that our best batter has the baseball IQ to know when to work a pitcher and take a walk, when the ones coming behind him throw all that logic into the garbage can and hack away like fools. I guess we should just want EE to hack away at pitches too (and not rely on his teammates), seeing as how SO many times we have loaded the bases and not had that one clutch hit to bring them home.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 But...........We are competing till the end of September based on what Wilner has told me :-( Username is RealAccountant. Either Olerud secondary account or Paul Beeston joined the board!

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 OF, you know BABIP isn't 100% luck, right? This is not the time GD...*grinds teeth*
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 They tend to do this quite a bit, get close, but not quite make it all the way back. Oh well, extend the GM and prez.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 This is not the time GD...*grinds teeth* But I'm bored lol. That probably sounded more sarcastic than I intended but QoC(ontact) and BABIP probably have something to do with one another.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Lets not use history to project that Lawrie would be missing time this year. After all he has missed time every year, Yes but,...but ... aw f*** it. It So sucks, that we are close almost yearly, and in this division. You would think these guys would learn to stay healthy.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 reyes might bat .300 this year, I think we should waive him, and if he is claimed let him go
baubau Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Also to note, I did like Hutch's composure after giving up 6ER in the 1st. By no means was it a great outing but I like that level of composure to forget about the bad play and keep on going. Hopefully next season he can be more aggressive and consistent. I am sure that coming off TJS/missing a year of play is impacting him right now.

Some players are just more likely to get hurt, why do you think Orioles let guys like Brian roberts and reimold walk away. Smart franchise is smart
jays76 Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 This rotation really needs to stop f***ing around, our wonderboys Stro & Hutch sunk a very winnable series for us. This team is officially on life support..
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 reyes might bat .300 this year, I think we should waive him, and if he is claimed let him go I think you can get value in a trade. Theres going to be some GM out there that will look at Reyes offensive numbers and want to trade for him. Hes a pretty good hitter but the defense, injury concerns and salary all make him look worse than he is.

This team is officially on life support.. They are rookies, can you expect them to go out there and pitch like Cy Young every game? Hutch was considered as having the upside as a number 3 starter and is giving you exactly that of a 3/4 starter. Stroman's upside was of a number 2 starter and he has been that as well. You can't ask for much more than that..
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 If anything, blame the F.O. for the constant failings of this team. Flawed roster construction with a $135M payroll is disgraceful.

Smart franchise is smart Wish i never found out about how much Lawrie likes Red Bull. I love how much he wants to win,and i bought the hype b4 the start of this season was finally the year he hits. Okl i,m done venting.

You can't ask for much more than that.. I can ask them to not s*** the bed and cough up 11 runs in 2 innings combined in an extremely crucial series.. In all honesty I don't blame them as much as I blame management for hanging the team out to dry this offseason & trade deadline. They've been put into precarious positions of no fault of their own but regardless they need to dig a little deeper down the stretch if this team has any miracles left up their sleeves.

So do you blame Hutchison when he went out and shutdown the Orioles in a must win in division games earlier this month? Every starter is going to have their good and bad days. Hutch is inconsistent but he shouldn't be blamed when he is a middle of the rotation type starter and has been exactly that.
