burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 He's a scrub' date=' it has nothing to do with calming down. He has been inconsistent all year, especially at home. If you think a guy with an ERA of 5 and a WHIP over 130 is serviceable then you need to start following another sport there buddy. He's had way more horrible starts then he has had good ones and his ups and down need to be worked out at another level at this point. He lacks command down in the zone with his fastball and it has been that way over 25 starts, which IMO, is more than a large enough sample size to make that judgement.[/quote'] You are the scrub here...

Those numbers suggest to me that Hutch has been a serviceable back of the rotation option for the Jays this season. He isn't a scrub for f*** sakes. He was awful tonight, but big deal.
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 6 runs and 40 pitches and they're leaving this idiot out there? LOL, blows up two important games against Seatlle and this weak ass team, essentially killing any outside chance this team might have had at a wild card spot.

One start doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Haha. B4 this series started we were saying we got to sweep this one..........yeah right. How's loose 2 of 3.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Hey what a concept going after Dunn.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Three groundballs after the leadoff double, much better Hutch.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Thank goodness for that Dunn GIDP there..
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Chase Headley is not an upgrade-Wilner

Hutch pitched some absolute gems in his first season back from TJS. I'm willing to give him a long leash for this season and the next one - what does irk me a bit is that Gibby doesn't yank him early enough when he struggles in they key games down the stretch. Even if it means taxing the bullpen, I'd rather run that risk in August than having a fully rested bullpen playing irrelevant games by September...
Slider Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Oh wow..Hutch got out of that inning with no runs scored.
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 You are the scrub here... Your mom is the one scrubbing off her knee pads at my house asswipe. As for him being a serviceable starter? He has been extremely inconsistent through the entire season. You take out his two shutout games and he has an ERA right around 6. He has been a complete no show all year at home, blowing up games start after start, consistently not giving his team a chance to win. He needs to go down and work on his fastball command so he doesn't hand us an ERA of around 7 in our own ballpark.

Maybe, but the pen is already in a bad spot from the last two games, they can't bring Jenkins back yet, and who knows what Drabek would do. I think Hutch has to wear this one for as long as he can.
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 f***ing fanboys can't handle anyone criticizing their boyfriend and instantly get their panties in a bunch when somebody does. He's been inconsistent all year, lacking fastball command and at one point, had the worst ERA of any MLB starter in his own ballpark. He shows falshes of excellence, getting his stuff down and beating good teams, then falls of for 5 or 6 starts. That tells me flat out he's not ready to pitch at this level. If we expect to field a winner, we can't have a guy like this in our rotation. If our team is going to let this guy learn on the job, they need to do the same with all of our young pitchers and rid ourselves of f***ing ****s like Dickey and Happ, who do only enough to keep their jobs by throwing a decent game or two once ina while before getting lit up for 6 or 7 starts. f***ing fanboys on here who've obviously never played this game make me laugh out loud.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 ^ Why so mad? sounds like he stayed up past his bedtime last night and is cranky today.
jays76 Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 This is pivotal, we need to go on a 2 out rampage too.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Bases loaded for Lind. How about a big hit now?
