That's a 110 win pace lol. 88 wins should do it, but that's still 25-40 and a 101 win pace.

need a time machine to go back to the off season and bash AA in the head until he understands that his "internal options" and lack of bench are going to cost him a chance to keep his job.

totally agree with this....I also think we should have gone for it...this was the year in AL East. I don't share the optimism of some for the next 2 years.

Red Sox will be back, they have good prospect depth, are going to bid on some IFAs (which the bluejays don't believe in and that's one of the reasons they will never win anything), and the Yanks have major payroll coming off the books. This was the year to spend that extra 15-20m and get a legit #1 pitcher + infielder through trades or FA.

We were this close to having Santana... this close to having Kinsler (had to throw it in there).... things could have been so much better this season. Santana was probably the biggest whiff to the organization which showed Rogers unwillingness to pony up and go for it (and the foreshadowing of what to expect this season, AKA no payroll flexibility). Trading for an ace at the deadline would have been just to save face, that move was too late to have the impact needed. Not to mention our results for August wouldn't likely be much different with Lester pitching over Happ as he's held his own out there last few outings. Getting a 2B or 3B had to have happened the week Lawrie hit the DL back in June.

Bottom line: too little too late.

Most is obvious.

It states Toronto needs to go 27-13 to hit 90 wins. Not horribly unable to do but doubtful since they can't streak on a positive note lately.

Just need to go 17 and 23 and end up at 80 wins...for the first time all year I believe in this teams ability to make me right.

I see this team either streaking and winning 26-27 of the next 40 or busting badly and winning 14-15 games. If we lose I hope beyond all hope that the Jays fire AA and Beeston.

I really agree solely because AA has shown to me that he just doesn't get it, and will continue to make the same mistakes of roster management that he has before. His inability to evaluate talent properly and missed trade opportunities...dude has too many built in excuses. It's time to move on.

It is not going to happen. At best they will be .500 after the last 40 games putting their win total at 83 games or so well out of a wild card spot.

what makes it tougher now is the games are that much more important now. It's one thing to reel off a hot streak early in the season when the games are not as important but another to win them now. Same as a basketball game. Teams can get up 15 or 20 points in the first quarter or half, but it's what happens at the finish line that matters.

They will herald this a successful season because for the first time in many years we had "meaningful games in August"

I've always felt the best way to appease the baseball gods was to make sound baseball decisions from the front office.

Math doesn't work - especially with the unaddressed holes we had prior to Edwin and Lind going down still existing.

Some are way ahead of themselves on Stro and Sanchez for so few MLB innings.

From 5 gms up to not going to happen at wildcard.

Biggest disappointment has been the bull pen. Would love for them to go on a win streak enough right now to make for some interesting games in September but all parts of their game seems to be misfiring right now .
