JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I hate that huge, no man's land, outfield. COME ON GOSE!
over500 Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Can Francisco f*** off already and pursue sumoing career?
jake Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 that may have been a hr in rogers center but they are not at rogers center
ParkdaleTdot Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 way to entertain our west coast jays fans.. sigh
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Weak swing by Gose. At least this series is over with. Tough pitching but the offense didn't adjust. Regroup, beat up the ChiSox if they still want a chance to hang in there.
theblujay Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Terrible series. Just awful. They showed nothing coming off that big win on sunday
jake Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 they need to get on a hot offensive streak
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 only one reported post on a sweep...must be too late for the trolls.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 If you count 6.5 Million per win he is still close to a $20 million player. The thing is he wont be worth 22 million probably by next year and def 2016 and beyond. Its the term everyone hates not the AAV. I wouldn't pay more than $14m for Reyes per year for more than 4 years based on some really quick back of the napkin type s***
SAAviour Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 9 pages for a game day thread, looks like slowly but surely the fans just don't give a f*** anymore.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 2nd QS by RA in a row ruined by our offense.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 It's a mid-week west coast GDT. Probably not gonna get a ton of pages.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Again, the Jays show that they have zero ability to score runs in a massive park. Dingerz or die tryin' This would be a 70 win team in the AL West.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 It's a mid-week west coast GDT. Probably not gonna get a ton of pages. I don't see a huge difference between a Monday and Wednesday for most people. At least last night game was close...the excitement of the Detroit series probably had worn off after the first 2 loses. 30ish GDT to a 9 page GDT is a pretty big drop off. Not that i care...because it makes the thread more readable.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Shortest GDT all season? Team sux unless they're hitting home runs, and that won't happen much @ Seattle cause of park and pitchers
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Anybody that thinks the Jays have a chance of catching the O's better pull their head out of their ass right about now. This sweep really stings after coming off winning 2 out of 3 vs the Tigers, I hope im wrong but i think we are soon going to be well back of the WildCard also. All the same it is nice to be watching some meaningful games midway through Aug.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 way to entertain our west coast jays fans.. sigh
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I wish we traded the farm to go for it and acquire a starting pitcher at the deadline that could give us quality starts... because then we'd be a WS contender and all that stuff.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I'm an idiot and watched this train wreck till the final out. Man, this team has me feeling down. They need a massive winning streak ASAP because it's slowly slipping away.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Kawasaki and Reimold have run of magic. That bullpen is utterly useless at times. It all depends on how Reyes and the rotation are doing.
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 At this point, sleep is far more valuable than watching the Jays useless bats go up against the league's best pitching. The outcome was inevitable so I wasn't losing sleep over it.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 It's become fairly evident that we don't have the make-up or talent-level needed to compete. During the Baltimore and Seattle series it was strickingly obvious that those are just better teams, more well-oiled, less faults, more talent. Seattle is looking really good, which is funny because people were actually writing them off at the beginning of the season. Seattle has exactly TWO more wins than us. They played better than us this series, that's all. Give me a break. They have multiple flaws. I'd take even our Edwin-less lineup over theirs any day. Jays had a bad week.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 "3 games down with 40 to play" isn't exactly a great position to be in. The Jays need a great stretch run, let's be clear about that. They need to go something like 23-17 to have a chance. They must to be better than the Yankees, markedly better than the Tigers/Royals and Mariners, and not much worse than the Indians. It's a tight window.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 23-17 that means the other teams would have to play 500 baseball. No. They need to go at least 27-13. Yeah you're right. Probably 26-14 then. The games rival teams play against each other should somewhat neutralize chance of multiple teams going streaking too.

Yeah it helps if DET plays KC a lot down the stretch and they probably do Also would be nice if CAA fell back a bit...
