burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 its been 42 years since someone reached base 8 times, last was Rod Carew. Amazing game by Melky ...Checks Fangraphs to see how much his OBP went up.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Lind and EE coming back this next series, plus Jenkins will have to be sent down for another RP and who knows if they need to call up one more as well considering the state of the pen. Lots of moves on the horizon.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 They're giving us stuff to cheer about late in the season This is awesome
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Porcello being tagged with the loss in a game he probably did not want to pitch in at all, lol.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Yup exactly. Posters were crying (myself included) for meaningful games in August. Well, here we are. Re Felix: It's going to be tough haha Will be tough but we should have Lind back and possibly EE if they cut his minor league stint short which I think is a strong possibility.

Lots of moves on the horizon. It's not like the pen was decimated... Jenkins was the only guy who really pitched a lot today, so they don't necessarily NEED to send anyone down (unless Redmond wouldn't be able to go tomorrow...)

Re Felix: It's going to be tough haha Just take it all in and enjoy the tension of a playoff push, even if we'd all prefer that they get closer to the O's. Even if it's not the most efficiently assembled team, it is what it is, nothing I or anyone here can do about that, it's the way the owners of the franchise are allowing it to be run. We'll see what happens...stay calm though

Redmond and Sanchez likely can't go, plus Janssen probably as well. Not sure on the rest, but there may be someone else I'm missing.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 This is the kind of win that could get this team on another big roll. Just saying....

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Anyone else worried about us looking like poop tomorrow in Seattle? At least they'll get it out of their system against Felix. Good chance that's an L anyway.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 This is the kind of win that could get this team on another big roll. Just saying.... Back to back walk-offs for the first time since (iirc) 2008? That's pretty energizing for a team... I'd assume.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 In front of 46K+ fans. That was huge. I can imagine the ratings may go back up to the levels they hit when they swept the top-10 Red Sox at Fenway.

One of the most exciting parts for most of us has to be younger guys coming up and contributing significantly (Hutch, Stro and Sanchez) to this post season push.

I'm guessing quite a few tuned into today's game. After back to back comebacks this should really catch the attention of casual fans.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I can't wait to play Baltimore again, hopefully with Lind and EE back
Chappy Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Jenkins pretty much has to go down. Delabar probably comes up, unless they want a long man. I feel like a long man is needed, but really who is there?

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Many people wrote today and yesterday as losses as well. Haha, and when it was 4-0 today I told my girlfriend "I know a loss when I see one. Let's watch something else." So I ate crow, and it was delicious.

So I ate crow, and it was delicious. I don't think any Jays fan could honestly say that down 4-0 against David Price we had much of a chance. But to their credit, they worked him hard and got his pitch count up to get into the pen.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 KC's next 3 games are vs Oakland. If we can beat up on Seattle we could do really help ourselves in this WC race.
