Jays: Happ, who spent parts of three seasons with the Astros, has been mostly awful in his last four road games with an 0-2 record and 10.67 ERA. The best of those outings came Sunday, when he allowed three runs and four hits over 5 1-3 innings in a 5-4 road win over the New York Yankees. The Blue Jays have averaged 6.6 runs and batted .323 with 15 homers while winning nine of 10, getting within 1 1/2 games of AL East-leading Baltimore and taking a three-game lead for the second wild-card spot. Toronto is on its longest win streak since winning a season-high nine in a row May 20-28. Navarro is hitting .381 with three homers in his last 10 games, and Bautista is batting .361 with four home runs over his past 10. Astros: Houston's Collin McHugh will try to slow Toronto while putting an end to his six-start losing streak. The right-hander has posted a 4.46 ERA during the skid while receiving only five runs of support. In his first outing after missing three weeks due to a loose nail on his throwing hand, McHugh worked 6 1-3 innings and allowed four runs while striking out nine in Sunday's 4-2 home loss to Miami. The Astros, losers in seven of nine, made a move by acquiring outfielder Jake Marisnick, pitcher Francis Martes and infielder Colin Moran from Miami for pitcher Jarred Cosart, infielder/outfielder Kike Hernandez and outfielder Austin Wates. Luhnow said on Thursday that he's hopeful the team will be able to get at least one of its injured outfielders -- Fowler, Springer or Presley -- out on a rehab assignment next week. Major league hits leader Jose Altuve had been batting .396 during a 12-game hitting streak before going hitless Thursday. Astros teammate Jon Singleton's only three hits in 15 at-bats over the last five games have been home runs. jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Nice! Pumped for this. Anyone know why Valencia is playing over Juan?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Let's f*** the Astros up tonight.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 Nice! Pumped for this. Anyone know why Valencia is playing over Juan? Best guess is that it's a day off. No other reason why we'd be playing the opposite platoon player lol
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Best guess is that it's a day off. No other reason why we'd be playing the opposite platoon player lol And someone with pretty much no experience playing first.
wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Let's take the second of a (hopefully) four game sweep!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2014 Author Posted August 2, 2014 And someone with pretty much no experience playing first. No kidding. I'm curious as to who would preform better overall: Putting Gose in right and Bautista at 1B or what Gibby decided tonight
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Friday night GDT on BJMB. Let's keep it classy, fellas.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 No kidding. I'm curious as to who would preform better overall: Putting Gose in right and Bautista at 1B or what Gibby decided tonight Much rather Gose in RF. Gose also hits better vs RHP than Valencia.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Nice! Pumped for this. Anyone know why Valencia is playing over Juan? Managerial instincts, we're gonna beat up on McHugh so badly in the first two innings that they're forced to bring in a lefty out of the pen.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 "The best part about Sanchez is that hes a winner. 2-0 to start his career." Who said this? Sounds like something JFaS would say.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Empty seats galore at the backstop! What a pathetic organization Houston is.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 i was kind of hoping for a Handsome Jake vs. Gose type of wager tonight. Not in a handsomeness contest of course...as that's no contest
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Ump got completely fooled by that 3rd pitch..
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 We keep swinging at ball 4s...take pitches out of the zone
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 This guy is scared of Joey
