HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 what the f***? why? His stuff is still there...yeah he sucked but...I still felt he could have done something. I suppose they hope he gets picked up by another team and they take his salary?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Wasnt Santos moved in the Ian Kinsler trade that didn't happen? This hurts.

He cant be trusted.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Merged You can't just say "merged" and expect it to happen
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Would be a good target for a team looking for bullpen help as it seems maybe a fresh start is what he needs. He has been terrible this season however. Had bad luck but didn't do himself any favours with his command being downright awful.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 He was injured for the last 3 years but seriously, last year he was dynamite in his 25 IP
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Wonder if anyone claims him with his contract.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 What happen with this team? Now, we will lose Santos for nothing.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Wasnt Santos moved in the Ian Kinsler trade that didn't happen? This hurts. All I recall is that the trade involved Texas. Was it ever confirmed it was involving Kinsler? I also recall mention of a failed physical. Was that Santos or the TX player? On the DFA: An odd move at the moment, unless he's done something I'm not aware of (I missed the whole TX series).
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 well we sure as hell weren't picking up his $6 million option for next year, so the whole 'what have you done for me lately' applies here. We need to win now and he isn't helping.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Why didn't they DFA McGowan? Why would they do something rational? You're better than this.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Bump "Trade Santos, Delabar, Cecil or Janssen" thread
Nox Verified Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Thank god we cleared a 40 man spot so we can trade Pompey for Soria this week.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 His salary is as follows according to Cotts: 14:$3.75M, 15:$6M club option, 16:$8M club option, 17:$8.75M club option ($0.75M buyouts for each option) Now if you waive his option for 15 do you also have to buy the other two years? That would be an extra 2,25 in addition to the pro-rated portion of 3,75.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Thank god we cleared a 40 man spot so we can trade Pompey for Soria this week. Soria will be a nice addition AA, add 7 more millions to our awful payroll!!

So if we pick up the option it costs us 5.25 million net - something that just wouldn't happen at this stage.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Thank god we cleared a 40 man spot so we can trade Pompey for Soria this week. You know full well Pompey is untouchable. Canadian, a track star. Beeston would probably s*** himself if he knew who Pompey was.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Can't see anyone picking him up, maybe when teams get desperate in August for late innings relief help.

So if we pick up the option it costs us 5.25 million net - something that just wouldn't happen at this stage. So ultimately the savings would be pretty negligible if someone picked him up. More than enough for Denorfia but not enough for Headley.
Nox Verified Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Sanchez is going to get his spot on the 40-man. I might not have been serious.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 2013 Ace RELIVA: -Santos -Delabar -Cecil 2014 s*** RELIVA: -Santos -Delabar -Cecil Relievers: One year looks like $10 million dollars golden goddesses and the next year they looks like $10 dollars hooker.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Can't see anyone picking him up, maybe when teams get desperate in August for late innings relief help. Apparently relief help is all the rage right now. Someone is going to pick him up.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 relievers: One year looks like $10 million dollars golden goddesses and the next year they looks like dominican hooker. ftfy

More than enough for Denorfia but not enough for Headley. Yeah, he's owed 1.43 that we would save this year and then the 750k from the buyout. So not petty cash for the JAys
