intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 The Jays, since 2012 and over the past three years, seem to be cursed by injuries to key personnel. Bautista was asked if there has become a certain inevitability that players now accept. “We joke about it, but we don’t believe that truly,” Bautista said. “It’s unfortunate but it seems like us and the Rays we all have to deal with more injuries than normal, more banged up, maybe because of the turf. I mean it’s the only two stadiums left with turf. I don’t know if there’s a way to address it at the Rogers Centre, so we just have to deal with it and either find a way to get deeper with our farm system and have guys that can step in and contribute right away if somebody gets hurt.” http://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2014/07/14/blue_jays_allstar_jose_bautista_talks_deals_derby_griffin.html Bautista sending more than a shot across the FO's bow here. He's basically calling out AA once again for not doing enough to build a winner. I think a couple of years ago at the AS game he even made a "not getting any younger!" statement. He's also telling the current replacement Jays that they suck (he's not wrong). Jose doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's too thrilled about sharing a field with Gose, Mastroianni, Glenn, or whichever replacement matchup of the week. The man is a hot head, but I also don't think it's a bad thing - unless you're playing on a team of scrubs. Full measure attitudes don't mesh well in a group of underachievers. I wouldn't be surprised if Jose has lost his s*** on Reyes, Mastroianni or whomever else in the clubhouse.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Hard to imagine a more unlikable superstar sometimes. I'm probably an outlier here, but I like Bautista plenty. He clearly wants to win in the way Doc did while he was here, but Joey doesn't have the calm personality Doc did. The problem with Bautista's intensity is that it probably comes off as dictatorial in-house (I've been a part of several groups and teams on which one person's fervor results in resentment). Jose is the kind of guy who would ask an underachieving player why the f*** they're there if they aren't going to do this properly and get legitmately upset when the answer is simply money.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ben Rapelisberger. Pretty sure you lose the right to call out BR when you have an avatar showing a porn scene where a girl is forced to do sex acts at gun point...lol Busting chops bro

I like Bautista as well. He appreciates what this organization-Cito has done for him,and wants to pay them back with a world series, but he also has to be honest, and a good communicator, and leader,so there is no confusion if he leaves.

comeon sense Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Dennis Rodman was a superstar... Hall of Famer and 5 time champion. He wasn't a scorer but was a dominant defensive player and rebounder. He didn't need to score on those Pistons and Bulls teams. Yo. love your avatar,,,who is that ?
labadee Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 half of these injuries are upper bodies.. and some injuries like Reyes, weren't even hurt on our turf.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Shut yer yap Bautista and stop bitching.
