KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Going to the DL Just as well. Presumbaly, this means Dan Johnson gets a call up after all.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Going to the DL This is not a surprise with the way he's been running. Wonder why it took them so long to figure it out though?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 This is not a surprise with the way he's been running. Wonder why it took them so long to figure it out though? Probably a case of "he tried to play through it, it wasn't going well..."

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 What's the timeline on a toe fracture? If this is a short DL stint, I don't see what the big deal is. He wasn't fully healthy to begin with.

JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I'd assume the typical 4-6 weeks to heal fully depending on the kind of break. Since he's really only a DH at this point, rarely making an appearance at 1B, he could be back sooner rather than later when he's able to at least jog without too much pain. There has to be some kind of curse on this team. Something has to explain how the Jays are always this injury prone. It seems like something always comes along at the worst possible time. Things like Lawrie getting HBP you really can't protect against, or EE's running down the line and stepping awkwardly causing an injury but damn do these guys seem to be injured every year and always seems to come in bunches.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Jesus...things are going so bad if Davis tweeted that Jose Bautista got eaten by Godzilla I would tend to believe it...
labadee Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 of course. the baseball gods are cruel. They pick us up over their heads to show us what it's like to be on top, then slam us down to the ground. and when that's not enough, they s*** on us.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Trade for altuve or kiss thr season goodbye You must be joking? Houston is NOT trading Altuve.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 So what's out lineup vs RHP now? Gross SS - Reyes 2B - Kawasaki LF - Cabrera 1B - Johnson C - Navarro DH - Reimold RF - Bautista (possibly DH for now) CF - Rasmus 3B - Francisco
S33n Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 It's over, I'm barely watching these days. I know that sounds bad, but ya.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 You must be joking? Houston is NOT trading Altuve. 24 years old, controllable for five more years, and in the middle of a 4-5 fWAR season. You could offer them Stroman, Norris, and Pompey and they probably don't even consider it.

BTS Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 SS - Reyes 2B - Kawasaki LF - Cabrera 1B - Johnson C - Navarro DH - Reimold RF - Bautista (possibly DH for now) CF - Rasmus 3B - Francisco I haven't been following very closely, but WTF Bautista 7th?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 SS - Reyes 2B - Kawasaki LF - Cabrera 1B - Johnson C - Navarro DH - Reimold RF - Bautista (possibly DH for now) CF - Rasmus 3B - Francisco Versus LHP SS - Reyes 2B - Kawasaki LF - Cabrera 1B - Bautista C - Kratz DH - Navarro RF - Reimold CF - Mastroianni (until Gibbons grows tired of that) 3B - Tolleson Probably not in that order.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I haven't been following very closely, but WTF Bautista 7th? I didn't worry about the order. I was just fixing the positions from your lineup.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I hope we can catch lightning in a bottle with Johnson if/when they call him up. Maybe he'll get off to a start like Francisco did.
