You're right: young, above average position players on reasonable contracts are practically given away all the time.

I'd have to disagree, the Jays' timeline for contention. They shouldn't bring in a AAA player unless the plan is to let the year play out and re-jig things in the off-season. IMO the Cubs' assets that makes the most sense for the Jays are Starlin Castro and EJax. Both can help right now and are on decent contracts.

I think it was GD that said something like Norris is way more valuable than Severino. Seems like if the Cubs were asking for Severino for Valbuena it's not that unreal to think a 2B is going to cost us Pompey or Norris.

 

The Yanks can have him at that price.
