Convo Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Lind should never ever face a lefty. Is this difficult to accomplish ?

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Man, Bautista and Lawrie out of the lineup is really starting to hurt us big time. We dealt with it pretty good in the series vs Yanks but it's catching up to us. The trio of lefty starters killed us, forcing Gibbons to field a righty-heavy lineup missing actual good hitters. At least facing a righty we could have seen all of our starters. The lefties neutralized a lot of our talent on top of missing Jose and Lawrie.
kountryken Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Team is demoralize. Body language is all bad. No fight left. Need All-Star break real bad. Maybe 5 days off will do some good
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 My point was why sit him at all. He should be playing the whole game. Maybe there was some discomfort or a minor injury so they decided not to play him for the full game while hoping an opportunity might show up where his bat could make the difference. Until we hear from Gibbons (and we most probably will not) why he rested Cabrera then why just assume the worst?
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 JAYS are in such a funk now lineup tweeks won't make one iota of difference. this team is headed for third place and will need to fight tooth and nail for a wild card spot
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Time to start a fire sale thread. We should be able to get a nice return for Melky and MB. Hopefully Rasmus can get it going so he can net us a B prospect or something at the deadline. I'm really gonna report you if you don't stop

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 lol at the Gibbons hate and calls for him to be fired. Pulling Stroman yesterday was the wrong move but he's a good manager. This. Because managers have to make so many moves over the course of the season there will be some stupid ones. If you look at any team their manager make dumb moves. Gibby actually uses splits and most of the time makes good decisions. Imagine we had Farell? he would probably use Lind against lefties all the time.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 with this weak jays lineup I can see Quintana going the distance 110+ pitches in 7 innings. No chance.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Stroman is the best pitcher on the entire staff, and had only allowed 2 hits/ <100 pitches. Its useless to say what a player did in the past. Saying mcgowan retired 18 of 20 previous batters simply says he was due to give up some hits
Convo Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Jose Reyes the dive-free shortstop lol
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 McGowan had stranded 18 of 20 baserunners prior to yesterday. It wasn't the wrong move, just didn't work out. I don't know. I feel like if Stroman was coming out, why not use Loup on Dunn? I see the logic in bringing in McGowan, but I think the better move was to neutralize Dunn with Loup. Stro looked like he was instructed to dance around Dunn, too, but I could be wrong on that.

Yeah dumbass let's start a fire sale thread for a team in first place The level of stupidity in this thread is ridiculous

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Tampa has tied it up at 3 on a Zobrist HR.

Saying mcgowan retired 18 of 20 previous batters simply says he was due to give up some hits It doesn't work like that. It's nonsense that commentators and coaches and players say in interviews. There's no such thing as being due.
Convo Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 2 runs seems insurmountable for this team
