TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Fact (whether you want to believe it or not) - Rogers told AA in 2012 that he could have an increase in payroll but he had to become more accessible to media. Fact - he waited a year and spent the money in "the trades". Then has spun PR for 2 years since, while ignoring depth. There are two ways to keep a job as a GM. Win or increase team value. He's not great at one of those so he has to hope for the other. While yes I'm biased against AA...but it's not without facts and solid reasoning. Fact - I don't care about Rogers or AA. Where did all of that come from? This was about whether or not this is a contending team, when did this devolve into a discussion about whether your emotional hatred for AA is justified or not? You said that if this roster was healthy, it wouldn't be more than a .500 team. That's based on absolutely nothing, no facts, outside of you wanting this team to fail because you think that somehow results in AA losing his job. I don't care if you can prove that AA is incompetent, because that isn't what I was debating in the first place; I don't have any reason to waste time talking about AA with someone who blindly hates him. Why don't you back up the claim that this team, if healthy, is .500 or worse?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I liked it better before when we got to see a good fight and an ejection. that was a lot better than 30 guys on the field holding themselves and spitting.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I'll never understand why runners don't step on the front part of the bag, especially when trying to beat out an infield grounder.

The debate is whether or not having an injured team is better for AA than missing the playoffs with a healthy team. And I'm saying because he's much better off being a PR GM than having injuries are great for AA. why can't you understand that. I'm not saying that having injuries are good for the team, that would be stupid. As for the Jays being a .500 team...I base that on me being smarter than everyone else. Seriously I've said this since last October....I said this when they were 40-30 why the hell would I change my tune now? Whether it's fact or not it's my opinion...which is often like fact (sans Travis Snider's MVP awards and Johnny Cueto's 2014 success)
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Give me a break! last I looked we had the second best record in the AL. i haven't been on the GDT lately because of posts like this . The Sky is falling posts all over the place. that's because the sky is falling.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Too bad it wasnt Kawasaki at the plate there, at least he wouldve got Cueto to a 100 pitches. Reyes brought homerun swings to the wrong at bat.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 that's because the sky is falling. Another league leader, the Giants, barely won anything in the last 15 games. Is their sky falling too?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Hopefully Bautista isn't out that long. This is where having depth becomes important and AA never did much to address the bench during the offseason. I'm guessing they should platoon Kawasaki and Tolleson at second base while Lawrie is out and start Francisco at 3B against RHP. If Lind hits the DL, then a DH is needed. I'd even consider calling up Gose and rotate each outfielder Rasmus, Bautista and Cabrera out of the DH spot.

Why don't you back up the claim that this team, if healthy, is .500 or worse? the 40 man roster is s***. there is no depth whatsoever. as soon as inevitable injuries start the team has absolutely nothing to come with. we are already playing with the back up's back up. Normal health was never going to be enough. they need to be blessed by the pope, a voodoo witch and the karma police every day to have a shot. they barely have a rotation this major league acceptable. right now they have no back up outfielders and haven't had a second baseman all year. AA didn't address any of the problems in the off season. he got rid of one bad catcher and brought in one that is just as bad defensively and only marginally better offensively. he didn't make any moves to give depth or a better starter and this is where we are. this team might run hot at times, but it's not good enough to make the post season and needs to be upgraded.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Bautista will most likely go on the 15 day DL.

Doesn't work so I expect Kratz to go down
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Big out there. One more and we got 7 innings out of RA.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 lol, that call. Oh well, we'll take the out. Score runs.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 at least 6" above the extreme top of the zone... make up call for the one Dick didnt' get earlier.
RubberDickey Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Not a terrible outing by Dickey. Wonder if he will get tossed during commercial lol.

kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 that's because the sky is falling. I was replying to a post that said the season was over. So you think the season is Over TOO?
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 This is the time to hit Cueto. 100 pitches+
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 That ball is gone! YES. This might get rid of Cueto too.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Would love to get anyone else on base here.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 PATIENCE AT THE PLATE PLEASE! Hes not hitting his spots anymore.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 how many pitches is this kuato guy gonna throw
