KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 If it's Lind to the DL, lots of play for Francisco. I think what he's saying is that he won't necessarily return to 3B when this is over. Lawrie moved to 2B reluctanctly to help the team. That only works as long as Francisco stays hot.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Both Goins and Muni have around .275 average in AAA. I guess AA wanted the better fun effect against the little bit stronger defense that Goins brings. doesn't Muni have a higher walk rate?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 With Rasmus back soon, I think they can afford to carry Muni's bat in a platoon at 2B. Francisco on the bench is still a weapon, but all his ratios are nose diving (walks down, K's up). Not worth it with his s***** defense. When he was hot with the bat , it was OK. Not anymore.

Goins: .275 avg ----------------------> 6.9% BB - .053 ISO Muni:: .276 avg----------------------> 6.2 % BB - .112 ISO The magnitude of the hits should be considered. Muni is better option.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Love me some Kawasaki. Freaking Lind though. Guy just can't stay healthy. Don't think his back will ever be 100%.
Doc Verified Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Lind should've been off this team 2-3 years ago not sure why AA keeps giving the guy a paycheck, have to say aside from EE and Bautista his contract extension have been really bad.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Lind hit the ball off his foot. Could have happened to anyone. I don't know why anyone would want him off the team - mashes RHP and has a reasonable contract.

Ridiculous. For what we're paying him he has been well worth it past two years.

You're aware that he has a line of .331/.409/.507 yeah?
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 s***, forgot Pillar already optioned brain fart Who is the 4th OF right now then? Tolleson isnt it? I think when Rasmus returns, Gose stays, and Jenkins is sent down.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Kawasaki is a big leaguer. Tolleson has done an admirable job but if he keeps regressing (3 for his last 18 at the plate while not playing the greatest D) then Kawasaki should be given another look. Solid, solid player. Tolleson can hit LHP though so that kind of gives him the edge at the moment.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 That's certainly possible It's hard to send that speed and defense back to Buffalo Thats what i am thinking. Rasmus probably back tomorrow i was thinking one of the catchers going down and having a bench like: Kratz(Thole likely), Gose, Muni/Tolleson, Francisco. It is really hard to keep 3 catchers on a 25 man roster.

And i don't cringe whenever he comes to the plate. Ideal scenario is keep both him and Muni on this team IMO.

We should end up getting a 2-3 win improvement from the catching position YOY.

Does that mean that maybe Delabar takes that time off to work on his delivery and give him a rest. Bullpen has been solid lately without him. Might not be a bad idea.

Delabar is occupying a valuable roster spot. Bring another arm to the bullpen and send Delabar to Dunedin. Is he out of option?

I'm not sure it makes me think so because last week the word was putting him on the DL for rest and fixing his mechanics. If he did have options i could see them just sending him down.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Why does no baseball site track # of minor league options for players?????

Wouldn't it be great if they just put an O or an X next to the player's name on roster listings? It's something that plays a huge role in roster management so you would think the information would be made more freely available to fans but instead it has be a constant source of specualtion.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Why does no baseball site track # of minor league options for players????? Because A.A confuses the f*** out of them with all the promotions and demotions they all just said f*** It

TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Delabar could be DL'd to figure out whatever is wrong with him. If Jenkins goes down, and you really don't know what youre getting from Santos...there are 2 wildcards in there with Delabar and Santos, who are supposed to be your power righties.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Lind to DL. Lawrie fulltime 3B. Muni/Tolleson platoon at 2B. Francisco/Navarro platoon at DH. Kratz/Navarro/Thole splitting the C duties.
