Toronto: +39

Baltimore: -5

Red Sox: -17

NY Yankees:-27

Rays: -50

Who would have thought that in June Toronto would have the only positive run differential in the division? The disparity is quite alarming. This is great news for the team. Our division for the taking!

Run Differential refers to the past, is no indicator of improvement. From here on, The Jays, can keep-increase the +39 or put a negative RS.

The division isn't very good. Many posters on here are expecting that we're going to crush and burn at some point but they need to consider how poor the other teams are. It's still early and we need to add a pitcher but i would be surprised if we didn't win the division.

It's a testament to their sustainability. Very good to see.

The Orioles are the closest competition for the Jays. Their offense is extremely good and just like the Jays, it seems they have no outs (And they have plenty of power available).

If the Orioles improve their pitching (And they can from within), they are a force.

It's not a predictive stats. Tons of variable in the mix.

Can Francisco stick?

Can Lawrie put +100 wRC+ this year?

Can Edwin hit +15 dingers per months?

Can Melky keep using roids and Selig unable to catch him?

O's BB% = Arencibia-esque

Jones 2.4

Schoop 3.3

Hardy 4.1

Machado 6.7

Exactly. I've been saying that. The Jays aren't competing against some mythical perfect team, or the 1998 Yankees or something..they're competing against the other teams in the ALE. And it's a very flawed division right now.

The run differentials indicate that the Jays currently being in first is not really a fluke.

what this does point out to me is how lucky the yankees have been. rays are bad and that is reflected in wins but the Yanks are over 500 in spite of being that bad ,

I think that fantastic month of May had a lot to do with these numbers, regardless I'm excited. Huge series versus the Yankees coming up, not expecting a sweep but taking the series would be nice.

It's not because they are lucky, it's that a couple of their starters have really sucked it up like CC & Nuno so their Run Differential balloons. It helps having a guy like Tanaka who leads the league to get you above .500, guess you could say it's lucky they have him.

If the Jays can get by Tanaka, things really start looking up. Will be a tough test, but with the win and now the off day, maybe the bats come back to life tomorrow.

Dunno with tanaka, CC coming back, Pineda I could see the yansk being the biggest threat, they will try to make a move if need be. Orioles pitching stinks.

I am hoping for something similar when Hutch went against Darvish, we squeeked out a win, all hinges on Stroman. Winning the first one in NY against tanaka would be pretty awesome.

Thank God we don't have to face Tanaka the next time we face the Yankees (in a week). Good opportunity to gain a lot of ground!

If we beat Tanaka in the first game of the series, the follow games would be easy to get. We should be able to beat elite pitchers from now.

1- Jays get Shields for Sanchez

2- Jays lost sudden death game 2-0 of the Rangers with Darvish

Sounds awful, right?
