Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 How amazing would it be if Happ somehow gave us 160 innings of middle-rotation caliber performance this year?? I'm certainly not counting on it, but it actually seems like it might be plausible Happ always was a decent 5th starter / long relief guy. His pattern was usually really good or really bad depending on the day. The biggest knock on him ( before he got beaned ) was he's basically just a 5 inning guy. After he got beaned, there was legit reasons to question if he still had it, but he's showing he deserved the try now. I think he was pitching well last year before that incident. I just find people almost expect roster perfection on here; if you look at other teams, there are tons of holes and pitchers having bad seasons. That's baseball, the Jays success this season has included using many players with fair to poor contributions. The main issue with Happ is he's overpaid for what he is, but that's not his fault. At worst he's a decent depth guy if you ignore the salary.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Crap Verlander is back to being Verlander? Or are we just helping him out? Helping him a bit , combo of both I guess. Lots of bad swings on pitches they should not be swinging at early in the count.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Just bad luck there. happ a good pitch.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Another good pitch by Happ. He's pitched well so far.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Gonna be tough today, that's ok 2 of 3 on the road in detroit is good.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Gonna be tough today, that's ok 2 of 3 on the road in detroit is good. f*** that, be greedy
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Gonna be tough today, that's ok 2 of 3 on the road in detroit is good. relax its only the third inning, a 2-run lead is not safe with the bluejays
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Gonna need 10 to win today
labadee Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 it ain't over! two runs against the jays is nothing. we can get it back if we stop gifting verlander outs
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 f*** that, be greedy Of course, and it's far from over, but just saying we are not going to sweep everyone lol.
bowld Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Yup. I was hoping we would go 3-3 vs Tigers and Cards so a 2-1 start isnt bad but its also early. Still time to go 3-0 in Detroit
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Is it me or the Jays swinging at an inordinate amount of first pitch (or first two pitches)?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 No Edwin is a pretty big hit to the lineup though. And Verlander is dealing. It's okay! LET'S GO BLUE JAYS! He's not dealing thats the thing
labadee Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Is it me or the Jays swinging at an inordinate amount of first pitch (or first two pitches)? yup they are
43211234 Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Happ has had better command than usual today. He's pitched better than the score would tell you.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 He's not dealing thats the thing This. He looks very hittable.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 god I love it when opponents make ugly errors. Please make them pay for it
labadee Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 first and third, nobody out. let's strike!
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 There we go, time to make them pay.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Like someone said earlier.. Juan is going to have to have a good game if the Jays are going to win.
