G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Thank you Casey for all that you do
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 He'll never be labeled as "elite" because he doesn't have Kimbrel stuff or Chapman velocity but dude is as reliable as they come. Love me some Janssen.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Also, that is not a trade I make. I don't think Harper would be an upgrade over Janssen. Edit: Stephen Harper. Not Bryce. Just realized how that may have been taken on a baseball forum.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 He strikes batters out, limit's walks and homers, induces ground balls, he's elite
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Janssen just alpha'd the f*** out of Delabar there. Step aside son, 3 pitch K.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 When Chuck Norris plays baseball, he calls himself Casey Janssen.
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Lol @ anyone who would rather have Santos as closer.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Lol @ anyone who would rather have Santos as closer. There are still a few
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 There are still a few It sucks that Janssen is 9 for 10 in save opportunities when he's yet to give up an earned run!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 It sucks that Janssen is 9 for 10 in save opportunities when he's yet to give up an earned run! Reyes...
SantosLHalper21 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Lol @ anyone who would rather have Santos as closer. I'd rather Santos over Delabar to be honest with you...both are wild with their fastballs, but at least Santos is usually wild down in the zone...Delabar is just a hot mess up in the zone it seems.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 while i'm happy that janssen is f***ing s*** up is anyone else alarmed that our most reliable RH setup man at the moment is dusty??
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 while i'm happy that janssen is f***ing s*** up is anyone else alarmed that our most reliable RH setup man at the moment is dusty?? McGowan has good stuff, he is perfect for a setup role and can go a couple innings when needed. I'm glad he is stepping up.
Andy Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 what a beast! glad he's on my fantasy team as well.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 what a beast! glad he's on my fantasy team as well. Janssen = Huston Street BABIP's guys
flafson Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 He's elite but i wouldn't take him for Prime Minister. Maybe Ontario Premier though.
Andy Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Janssen = Huston Street BABIP's guys Those damn sabermetrics again
shortstop Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 last year, delabar could throw the ball where he wanted it...this year, unable to locate consistently...hopefully he rounds into form soon...cuz with CJ, Cecil, McGowan & a clutch Delabar, Jays should be able to close out many close games against the best teams...
flafson Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 It looks like Cecil and Delabar got some health problems.
shortstop Verified Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Spanky, I presume you're referring to Loup? Yeah, he belongs in that group of course
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I honestly do not understand why a good section of fans prefer Santos to return and close games. Sure he has "nasty" pitches, but unless we are making a movie to highlight the nastiness of pitching, I rather have a proven guy who knows how to get batters out.

I doubt anyone wants him back as closer. I think we hope he can pitch like he did last season as a set-up guy as it would strengthen the BP.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 And close in a pinch. No doubt. Bullpen could become a bigger hole if Santos doesn't come back and Cecil's recent shoulder soreness turns into anything more serious. My bigger fear is AA overpaying for middle relief help.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Santos hasn't proven in the past? If he's healthy he's an asset. Having one good season like fouryears ago does not equal "proven".
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 BABIP Janssen >>>>> FIPpy Santos
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 BABIP Janssen >>>>> FIPpy Santos Advanced stats say Santos is better. Actual results are meaningless.
