On June 3, 2014, the SkyDome will be 25 years old. Did anyone else miss the memo, or am I the only one that just found out? Knowing Rogers and Beeston's mission to "sell entertainment" you'd think they'd have marketed this a little more.

This link is seriously the only thing I've seen on it. I don't know, maybe nobody else cares about it, but seeing how much the Fenway and Wrigley 100 year anniversaries were so celebrated, you'd think they might have at least mentioned the Dome or done a giveaway relating to it, on or close to that date.

Place is a s*** hole. Why would you want to market it. They have been trying everything to hide how bad it is.

Doesn't matter how much of a shithole it is, it's still permanently ingrained in Jays history. Both WS wins came there, Carter home run came there, Halladay's HoF case was made there, Delgado's 4-homer game, Bautista's 50-homer season, it's all always going to be tied to the Dome, regardless of how much fans want to hate on it. It's still worth at least a mention and a s***** towel giveaway or something. If anything, they coulda used the occasion to sell a few extra tickets.

I still have this f***ing thing somewhere:

No comment. But it's possible the Jays may do something regarding this later this summer. And it's not a dump.. they've been doing everything to improve it.

Look, a new stadium would also have to have a roof as well. Doesn't anyone remember how much of a crudhole Exhibition Stadium was? It's part of the reason SkyDome was built. Might as well try to improve the current stadium than build a new one.

BTW, they're ticked in Atlanta over the debate over their new stadium, because nobody got to oppose it, especially considering Turner Field isn't even 20 years old yet.

I bet this place looked cool in the 80's but so did glam metal.

Part of the problem was due to bad timing, especially after Camden Yards and Jacobs Field were built.

If the Jays were to build a new stadium, it would likely be similar to Milwaukee or Seattle.. we need a roof due to the cold spring and fall.

I meant a retractable roof, similar to Milwaukee and Seattle.

And open air is unrealistic here.. last time we had that, it was a nightmare, considering Exhibition Stadium.

And open air first is a joke.. explain why Miami has a retractable roof, considering they're the newest stadium.

Here's the reason why we need a retractable roof stadium like Skydome/Rogers Centre:

The main impetus for building an enclosed sports venue came following the Grey Cup game in November 1982, held at the outdoor Exhibition Stadium. The game was played in a driving rainstorm that left most of the crowd drenched, leading the media to call it "the Rain Bowl". As many of the seats were completely exposed to the elements, thousands watched the game from the concession section. To make a bad experience even worse, the washrooms overflowed. In attendance that day was then-Ontario Premier Bill Davis, and the poor conditions were seen by the largest TV audience ever in Canada (over 7,862,000 viewers) to that point. The following day, at a rally at Toronto City Hall, tens of thousands of people who were there to see the Toronto Argonauts began to chant, "We want a dome! We want a dome!"

At least there are no rats like that shitcan in Boston.

Probably doesn't smell as much like urine anymore... I haven't been there since the 90s when nobody actually cared about the Red Sox... Now it probably smells like the BO of tens of thousands of M*******s.

Well it rains a ton in FLA. And its extremely hot. Open air is the only way to go. If they can do it in Minnesota and New York. They can do it here on the Lake.

Then explain why Seattle and Milwaukee have roofs. And doesn't anyone remember all the problems we had with the seagulls and fog at Exhibition Stadium?

No Courtice

I still don't believe that's pronounced "Curtis", no matter how many times people try to convince me.
