jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Indians win 8-2. Indians could pick up 1.5 games today depending what they do in the 2nd half of the double-header.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 OH man cant believe the state of the As this is awesome, 2 wild cards might be in play guys.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Sale through 8, 1 inning away from making the As lead on the wildcard down to 4.5 over Jays (and just 4 losses)

Worse for Oakland, they have Seattle next.. the A's could be out of the postseason mix by the end of this weekend!

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Goddamit, WHitesox pull Sale and bring in their closer leadoff runner on, argh,
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 White Sox win! A's lead now down to a single game, and now Toronto only trails by 4.5.. on the 1st wild card. What a collapse in Oakland.. who do you think gets fired after this debacle?

glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Cleveland leading 1-0 in the bottom of the 8th inning after winning the 1st game. They'll be tied with the Jays if their lead holds up. Ugh. At least the A's are freefalling. We'll need a few teams to crumble.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Sox win! Sox win! Sox win! 1. Oakland can't score 2. Chris Sale is f***ing awesome

Indians staying in the race is good for the jays so that they play the tigers strong this weekend
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 It is pretty massive that Oakland is bringing the other WC spot back in to play. That must significantly increase the chances for teams on the outside looking in like Cleveland and Toronto
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 YES broadcasters saying Yunel had trade rumour in July and it was severely affecting him?? #MentalMidget
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I type this as he hits a 3 run HR LOL Nice piece of hitting Yunel 3-0 Tampa
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Man, if Oakland winds up slipping and misses out on the playoffs that's going to be one epic choke. It'll make those trades look worse. It's going to be an interesting 3 weeks to say the least. 3.5 games out right now which isn't horrible since both slots might be open. It would be nice if the Jays played a few more of the teams to leapfrog. Seattle will be a must win series. Would be nice if we had to face Oakland, Detroit, try to pick up ground directly on them that way.

JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I know It REALLY sucks that we play Baltimore, who we can't possibly catch, 6 times Even a 6 game sweep would put the Jays back 4 games. Either they have to tank royally and the Jays win 17 in a row it's not going to happen. Would be really nice. It blows the Jays have some decent teams (Seattle, Baltimore, Yankees aren't going to just roll over) to fight it out for the WC yet other than Seattle (Yankees you could lump in there since we'd want distance between them and if nothing beat them out for 2nd in the division) it's no one in front of the Jays. It's not even controlling your own destiny. Blah. I'd even take an elimination in the WC just to end the drought and give everyone a shot in the arm to come into next season with. "Hey, we made it and just missed it while being in first for awhile, so let's attack from day one!" Kind of thing.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Yankees and Indians fans are saying the same general thing about the Jays. Were only 3 losses back moogy
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I checked ESPN average winning % of teams the Jays face is .546 Os .503, Detroit .476, Cleveland .480, As .471, so of course the Jays have the worst luck with the teams they have left to play percentage wise. But if they manage to pull it off it would be something.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Yanks are getting no-hit by Alex Cobb through 6.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Yanks are getting no-hit by Alex Cobb through 6. Don't jinx it! But that's a good thing It's always a good day when the Yankees lose.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Escobar with his second bomb. Damn he's a one man wrecking crew tonight.

JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 We have about a 6% chance. THAT MEANS WE HAVE A CHANCE. It's a weak pulse but it's a pulse! I went out for a walk last week and the weather said 5% chance of rain. So, I went. Of course I was caught in a downpour so if I can get rained on with a 5% chance that 6% means we're in! haha
shortstop Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 way A's are going down, anything can happen...would love to see the royals/jays in the W/C game...though personally, making and losing a W/C game doesn't count in making the playoffs...

It's been a strange few weeks. If the As can fall like that, like you said, anything could happen. It's going to be fun.

But if they manage to pull it off it would be something. What sucks is that after the all star break we supposedly had the EASIEST schedule. Well, we played all the crappy teams early and didn't do very well. The second half of the season was back loaded with these division games against better opponents. We had a better chance to make a charge in early August. Oh well, I'm just excited that they're doing something exciting now. Keep it up.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Liam Hendriks is garbage. Bases loaded and he's out with the Royals down 3-2.
shortstop Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 our boy Hendriks in a jame...3-2 red sox, bases loaded, 1 out, top of 3rd
shortstop Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 nix that, Hendriks out, bullpen arm in
