Jays: Hutchison hopes to contribute to a rotation that has a 2.61 ERA while the team has won 11 of 13. The right-hander allowed one run over 5 2-3 innings Wednesday in a 6-4 win at Boston. He scattered three hits over 5 1-3 scoreless innings in a 4-2 victory over the Rays on April 1 when the teams split a season-opening four-game set. Jose Reyes, though, has been seeing the ball well with a .353 average over an eight-game hitting streak. He's also hitting .381 over his last five home meetings with the Rays. The Blue Jays, atop the division this late for the first time since July 6, 2000, lead the majors with 70 home runs. They haven't homered in nine consecutive contests since April 27-May 5, 2012. Rays: Bedard has filled in nicely by going 2-1 with an 0.96 ERA in his last five starts. On Wednesday, he gave up three runs - one earned - and one hit over 5 1-3 innings in a 3-2 home loss to Oakland. Longoria, who had eight hits in the series, went 6 for 15 with a homer and four RBIs in the April series versus Toronto. Brandon Guyer also looks to keep swinging a hot bat after going 6 for 10 in his last two versus Boston. Tampa Bay's win Sunday was manager Joe Maddon's 700th with the club. closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 we've been facing an awful amount of southpaws lately As bad as Lind and Francisco are against lefties, im surprised they have been left out of the lineup this long. Both of them are hitting well, hate for them to get stale on the bench.

Could certainly make a case for it. Let's hope it plays out that way

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 WTF is Zaun talking about Oh my God 5 run leads vanish all the time
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 f*** Zaun... "Janssen might force teams to re-define what they look for in a closer." Why? Because he's 1 of like 2 closers that don't fit the prototypical flamethrower closer mould suddenly all of baseball might change the guys they want in that situation? Sorry, Janssen is nailz but he doesn't deserve that kind of praise.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 "There is no timetable for return" for Carey Price? Yes there is. Opening day of the 2014-2015 season. Duh.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Some late tidbits: Guyer placed on 15-day DL. Colome up to give an extra arm to a VERY overworked Rays bullpen. Bautista now DHing, Pillar in RF.
