G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Always ominous these days but hopefully he's OK
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Always ominous these days but hopefully he's OK I don't even have hope anymore these days when a pitcher goes to get his elbow examined. This year it seems that 99% of pitchers that do this have to go see Andrews.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 OMG we won the Dickey deal!! Dickey has no UCL! D'Arnaud is perpetually busted up. LOL maybe we did.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Poor Noah man. Mets are smart for leaving him in the minors so no option was wasted
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 f*** "prospects are prospects" theory Trade Sanchez for Paul Maholm or........................Dallas Keuchel? BTS

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I'm still convinced that Niese's arm is going to blow up too

Does all that time count on his service clock for arbitration??? Depend on where he was when it occurred. If it happened in june and he was in the minors then the remainder of that year wouldn't count but the next season would count for service time as you can't option an injured player.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 That sucks... I was looking forward to seeing him pitch. Could have had some nice years in that ballpark.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I'm still convinced that Niese's arm is going to blow up too Well, Niese pitched last year with a partially torn rotator cuff and spent time on the DL this year with elbow issues... not good. One of these days he'll break.

So what happened with Hutch? All that time counts I suppose?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Dickey has no UCL! D'Arnaud is perpetually busted up. LOL maybe we did. BOTH of those talents are a long way from a lock to be impact players in MLB. If we make playoffs and if RA can finish rest of yr strongly making a major contribution chewing up some quality innings, the deal isn't Armageddon. It all looks a lot diff (ya I hated the deal too).
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 s***** timing. I was going to his start in June. Joe Panik and Kirkham might be all that's left to truly watch. At least there is $1 beers

At least there is $1 beers Joe Panik, forgot about him... why did they rush that guys through the minors so fast anyway? A level a year with mediocre numbers.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Joe Panik, forgot about him... why did they rush that guys through the minors so fast anyway? A level a year with mediocre numbers. College guy that makes great contact, will never develop power, and doesn't need a lot of work defensively. If he was from an NCAA powerhouse he'd probably even moved quicker. Spent last year playing on a bad hammy. Very Marco Scutaro'esk and I think he should make the club next year, after a September call up this year.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Part of post-draft orientation for these pitchers should be to have Tommy John surgery, preemptively. Its getting that ridiculous now.
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Maybe all pitchers should start going the fastball windmill route! Wondering if by lowering the mound back after the '68 season has anything to do with all these injuries? and yes, I know that TJ surgery didnt happen for about 4+/- yrs after 68 but geesch there seems so many now!
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Yes the new model of success. Trade young power pitchers for aging vets with a history of durability! All this time you suckers were bad mouthing Anthopolous...turns out he was a visionary!

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Sandy Alderson better be careful what he says. His job is already in danger, along with Terry Collins, considering the Mets just fired their hitting coach yesterday. Alderson and Riccardi(special assistant) are on the bubble as is, as the Mets organization is a mess.
