Reverse image search comes up with a few links from reddit and a few other websites that would have given me a virus if I clicked on it.

didn't know I could do a reverse image search.

Rangers Outright J.P. Arencibia Off 40-Man Roster

By Jeff Todd [May 22, 2014 at 7:43am CDT]

After originally optioning struggling catcher J.P. Arencibia, the Rangers have outrighted him off of the club’s 40-man roster, according to the PCL transactions page. Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram first reported yesterday via Twitter that Arencibia had cleared outright waivers and been assigned to Triple-A.

The 28-year-old Arencibia has continued the decline he showed last year before being non-tendered by the Blue Jays and inking a one-year, $1.8MM deal with Texas. He carries a .133/.182/.233 line through 66 plate appearances this season, with just one home run. While Arencibia struggled to get on base even at his best, his .225/.279/.437 triple-slash (and 41 home runs) over 2011-12 was good for a 91 OPS+. He has been a sub-replacement-level player since.

Well he only has 2 options now. Either he can go down in Triple-A and change who he is so he can get back. Or he continue to over swing and wash away like a never was.

Considering his attitude, it'll likely be the 2nd option. And to think he was a decent prospect in 2011 and 2012.. how did he manage to screw up?

With Soto set to return soon, JPA will likely never see the big leagues again. Chirinos will continue to be the starter until then, with Gimenez backing him up.

Being a good prospect more often than not means you're not a great player... plenty of busts all over baseball every year

I still think Lawrie's sisters kid is JP's

If you ask JP, its not "my kid", its "her fault"

"Chris Gimenez went 4-for-5 with an RBI against the Tigers on Thursday. That's more hits than J.P. Arencibia had in the first 7 1/2 weeks of the season. Well, almost. Gimenez was making his second straight start, so it looks like he'll probably play more than Robinson Chirinos until Geovany Soto returns."
