He has a 38% GB rate. He's been lucky not to give up dingers. Guy who walks too many and doesn't keep the ball on the ground isn't going to have a whole lot of success in the majors.

 

Unless of course he strikes out 15 per 9 inn.

Read every top 15 prospect list he's been on (Miami, Houston and the Dodgers) and you'll see the same thing. Competitive spirit, great make-up guy...Jays eat that s*** up. Seriously though he's a short lefty who's been had much better K/BB numbers against lefties and is here for probably 1 outing. Not sure what's a bigger pet peeve of mine...keeping non prospect relievers, or this insistence that we have 3 lefties in the pen at all times (and Happ not being one of them)

figured Gibbons would do that, just didn't think it would be in that situation with that much on the line...likely heard the I/v he gave after learning he was getting called up & how it'd be a dream to face Big Papi...that's Gibbons for ya, he's old school & likes a good story...
