flafson Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Maybe Hutch straight up for Shark but doesn't make sense otherwise.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Dinger and I called this two years ago, nothing to see here. actually Boxy gets the nod here. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Av3moDN3hAuQdDFzVGhadWtXRXZpdmdOXzNvT29Ha2c&hl=en_GB#gid=0 Of course he ruined his rep by putting Nestor 6th and Cooper 13th.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 s*** Is he throwing more pitches per outing than he can handle maybe?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Find a way to get him an extra day or two off between starts. Throw Redmond out there for a spot start against KC.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 @Rotoinfo_MLB Yu Darvish to have precautionary MRI in Minneapolis
Spoonovic Verified Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Hutch also didnt throw one sinker last night according to Brooks.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Here comes Dr. Andrews? He just had TJs lol. Wont have to have TJs again for a couple years at least. Could be a shoulder injury though. That would suck balls.
shortstop Verified Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 he's already thrown more pitches than in 2012...1050 vs 987 in 2012...
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 More likely he wasn't commanding the fastball early in the game so took a big off. Or it's just randomness. I wouldn't be worried.
flafson Verified Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 The ump didn't give him anything for the first couple innings, i think that crushed his confidence. Velocity is also worrisome.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I was concerned about his throwing 110 pitches @ Philly. In his next start, he struggled against the Angels, much like he did yesterday. I never understood why they'd even say he's got no limits, really don't get it. As I said before, I don't get why they'd baby Stroman who pitched close to 140 innings last year and just cut Hutchison loose. Anyway, who knows, it may just be his mechanics.

8D Verified Member Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I think most pitchers actually come back stronger and have more endurance in their arms after coming back from TJS due to all the intense rehab they go through. Hutch seems to be fading... :/ da faq. Hopefully just a little blip on the radar.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Ace closure potential. Doesn't look like hes going to hold up as a starter. Could probably be a premier setup man right now so they should make that move now. Oi.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Buehrle needs to teach these guys how to pitch so there's no need to throw 95 MPH
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Buehrle needs to teach these guys how to pitch so there's no need to throw 95 MPH Not practical. There is only a very small group of pitchers who can do what Buehrle has dealing that goo. Also, there are lots of guys who don't throw particularly hard who have arm trouble. Its not only about velocity - its about mechanics.
Spoonovic Verified Member Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Velocity was down again today. Should we be worried?

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) Velocity was down again today. Should we be worried? Yes. Worried about stamina problems. He's probably not going to be able to go 5-6+ IP, every 5 days this season. Edited June 9, 2014 by G-Snarls
Convo Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Hutchison Jun 8th 2014 Vs Cards Velocity looks fine according to this.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 It appears like he needs 5 or 6 days off between starts to be effective. His stamina is not there yet and this needs to be worked on. Question is, does his arm feel ok,or is he just not in the best overall physical condition?
labadee Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Velocity was down again today. Should we be worried? velocity was fine. his control was the issue today. serving up meatballs all afternoon
