Jays:


  • Buehrle threw seven stellar innings Wednesday to earn a 10-0 victory over Philadelphia. The left-hander has a 3.57 ERA at home compared to 0.92 on the road as he tries to improve on his poor record versus Los Angeles. He's 2-8 with a 4.86 ERA in 21 career regular-season starts versus the Angels, and his 4.95 ERA is his second-worst against an AL club.
  • Jose Bautista fell just shy of tying a club record on Sunday afternoon vs. the Angels. The power-hitting right fielder's streak of reaching base safely ended when he went 0-for-4 as the Blue Jays lost to the Angels, 9-3.
  • With his single in the eighth inning on Sunday, Melky Cabrera now has hits in 34 of 37 games this season.

 

Angels:

  • CJ Wilson is 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA in his last three outings. Wilson gave up three runs in eight innings in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the New York Yankees.
  • Howie Kendrick stole two bases for the third time this season on Sunday and the sixth time in his career.
  • Howie Kendrick 6 for 11 with four runs scored in the series and Erick Aybar 6 for 16. Los Angeles has won six straight and 10 of 11 over Toronto and seven in a row in Canada.

Steve Tolleson, career .371 OBP in the minors... I'm okay with him getting on so Bautista or EE can knock him in.
