Ryan Rowland-Smith was promoted from the Fisher Cats to fill his spot. This explains why Wagner wasn't called up. At least we get Janssen back shortly. Chad Jenkins will likely be optioned when Casey returns.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 This one might be Gibbons' fault. He abused him in his last appearance making him throw 40+ pitches.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 First thing that came to mind when i read the title Yup. A few of us brought it up as Wagner was being abused.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Apparently, Cecil's gonna come in to close this one out. I have no clue why Cecil pitched yesterday.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 If this can be put on that stretched outing, that's really sad that our bullpen management actually led to injuries. Pathetic.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Yeah but it makes sense when you have a f'ing retard managing.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Maybe next time don't make a 1-inning reliever through 47 pitches when your long man is up and ready. Rogers and Redmond were rested that day and JA f***ing Happ didn't pitch for 2 weeks. Bush league managing of the bullpen at its finest
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Rogers and Redmond were rested that day and JA f***ing Happ didn't pitch for 2 weeks. Bush league managing of the bullpen at its finest Even yesteray. Cecil pitched an inning and 1/3 in a 7-2 ball game.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Even yesteray. Cecil pitched an inning and 1/3 in a 7-2 ball game. And I was criticized for saying leave Stroman in. Yesterday would have been Stroman's start day. Keep someone warm just in case, but I see no reason why he couldn't preserve a 5 run lead. This BP is gassed.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Even yesteray. Cecil pitched an inning and 1/3 in a 7-2 ball game. He's like the only guy that Gibbons trusts right now
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Even yesteray. Cecil pitched an inning and 1/3 in a 7-2 ball game. Gibbons this year seems to have a thing for making middle relievers throw multiple innings, especially the core. This BP was a mess from the start because of options Redmond McGowan Loup Delebar Cecil Wagner Santos should have started the season and later on we would make space for Janssen and Stilson. Oh well
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 He's like the only guy that Gibbons trusts right now I guess he only trusted Wagner at the time he let him throw 45+ pitches.

8D Verified Member Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Wow. Can you imagine if Wagner later on has to get TJS. Maybe not even right after this "forearm strain" but maybe later cuz we don't know how susceptible he'll now become because of this. If Wagner's career goes down the shitter after TJS, he may know where and who to look at...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) If you have Neil Wagner in your pen you are supposed to abuse him. P.S. he threw 45 and 39 pitches in games last year. in total 2011 15 times he went 30+ pitches 3 times over 40 2012 12 times over 30+ and 3 times over 40 2013 (with Jays) 4 times 30+ once over 40 Hardly our abuse Edited May 6, 2014 by TheHurl

It's ridiculous to blame him but hey i guess it's making people feel better?

I guess his arm just wasn't up to par yet this early in the season. I take back on my comment on Gibby.
