gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 brutally ugly swing by Lawrie. ball almost hit him Yeah, he's been better than that lately.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Why would anyone bat Freddy Galvis second? The guy is 1/31 on the year. Playing the slumpbusters
kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Uh, there were two out. I'm aware but he ran hard instead of coasting
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm aware but he ran hard instead of coasting How do you know he ran hard?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm aware but he ran hard instead of coasting True, but anything remotely close to fair territory has to be ran out by the base runners. It's almost at a point in baseball now where fans appreciate it when a player runs hard on balls that appear to be easy outs, when it should just be routine. Funny thing is if Francisco ran hard out of the box, he'd have a double.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Interesting strike zone so far... Ump loves the inside of the plate to lefties, outside to righties... Like what 5 pitches there in the first inning that were all off the plate called strikes? Can't tell me framing is responsible for all of that, part of it sure, but when it's that consistant, it means the umps eyes are crooked.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 And this is why pitchers don't know how to bunt in the AL..
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 More bad baserunning but at least reyes got to 2nd
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 I don't mind this. Rather Reyes on 2B with 2 down rather Thole on 2B with 2 down lol
Top 10 Personal Catcher Verified Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 With 2 strikes and a runner on second, why not just let Happ swing and see what happens?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 More bad baserunning but at least reyes got to 2nd Yup,the bad base running has to stop, even though the end result put us in a better situation.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 With 2 strikes and a runner on second, why not just let Happ swing and see what happens? No kidding, who cares if he gets hurt, we'd be better off with him on the DL
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm okay with him bunting with two strikes, odds of putting down a good bunt is higher than him moving the runner over/getting a hit.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Why is the board so quiet lately? 1. first month excitement has gone away 2. jays aren't playing well 3. most active members avoid the gdt as much as possible
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Yeah, he's been better than that lately. I think he was irritated about the call before, just like Jose.
