LTR Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 #1 of 100 on my 50/50 evening game (so far)
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 My line-up for this evening: P Corey Kluber C Yan Gomes 1B Brandon Belt 2B Ben Zobrist 3B Brett Lawrie SS Brandon Crawford OF Angel Pagan OF Mark Trumbo OF Sam Fuld Evening games optimals are a go: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0ByKIdMktKhYNb09tWGtDOFNyb28&usp=sharing Me thinks you both did quite well.
BrianV Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Well, 70/100 and 24.25 points on my first go. Pollock and Posey did nothing, Choo and Belt did even worse... Well, we'll try again today, although I am going to wait to see what others will do. I'm wondering whether Greinke might be the best bet for tonight....
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Well, 70/100 and 24.25 points on my first go. Pollock and Posey did nothing, Choo and Belt did even worse... Well, we'll try again today, although I am going to wait to see what others will do. I'm wondering whether Greinke might be the best bet for tonight.... He's also the most $$ priced at 10k. Just looking over it quickly it looks like Alex Wood might be the best value.
BrianV Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 He's also the most $$ priced at 10k. Just looking over it quickly it looks like Alex Wood might be the best value. Good call. Marlins park looks like it's pretty good at discouraging HRs... though lots of 3Bs.
BrianV Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I'm thinking the MIL-COL game tonight should yield some points. Good hitter park, and two pitchers who haven't been great this spring.
BrianV Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Tried that on FD just now. Only $8.7k over budget.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Hahn and Karns look like good value tonight on DK. BrianV Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 P Jesse Hahn (OAK) C Buster Posey (SFG) 1B Adam Lind (MIL) 2B Ben Zobrist (OAK) 3B Jacob Lamb (ARI) SS Troy Tulowitzki (COL) OF Angel Pagan (SFG) OF Mike Trout (LAA) OF Sam Fuld (SEA) This is my FD lineup so far for today. I'll probably tweak it a bit as I hopefully see others post. I should probaby do a bit more stacking. I'm not sure about Seth Smith as my third OF, but he's the best I can afford. Not sure who else I want to cut. Edit: Dumped Smith in favor of Fuld. Just realized Smith was hitting against a LHP tonight. Edit no. 2: Tulowitzki is possibly overvalued for tonight. His numbers against Garza suck: .154/.143/.154 - 2 hits in 13 ABs.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Edit no. 2: Tulowitzki is possibly overvalued for tonight. His numbers against Garza suck: .154/.143/.154 - 2 hits in 13 ABs. Not really.
BrianV Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Not really. Yeah, I looked at the options and ended up keeping him.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Yeah, I looked at the options and ended up keeping him. 13 abs mean nothing. Tulo is the best SS play tonight by a lot.
LTR Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 13 abs mean nothing. Tulo is the best SS play tonight by a lot. Yeah I pretty much never look pitcher-batter stats. Sample size will never be large enough to have sufficient statistical power. Unless I'm on the fence about two players, that could be a useful tipping scale.
LTR Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 P Jesse Hahn (OAK) C Buster Posey (SFG) 1B Adam Lind (MIL) 2B Ben Zobrist (OAK) 3B Jacob Lamb (ARI) SS Troy Tulowitzki (COL) OF Angel Pagan (SFG) OF Mike Trout (LAA) OF Sam Fuld (SEA) This is my FD lineup so far for today. Line-up position, players, could change.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Why is Jesse Hahn cheaper than guys like Rubby and Colby Lewis? It seems like you pretty much have to draft him.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I tried making another lineup but Karns and Hahn are just such ridiculous bargains that there's no other way I want to go. Maybe make a stacked lineup of different guys.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Hahn is 7600 on FD. Alex Wood is 8500. I think i'm leaning towards Wood. Hahn is a pretty sure thing to get the SW though. Tough call.
LTR Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Projections are very low on Hahn because he's coming up from AA and has little ML experience. Also explains why his value is good right now. And this is why I never rely on projections solely when playing DFS. For new and old players they are more unreliable and take too long to adjust. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=13287&position=P

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Logan Forsythe is the cheapest 2B on FD. 2200. Cheaper then backups who don't play. Has a career 116 wRC+ vs lefty pitching. Wei-Tin Chen on the mound tonight. I like the price/match up. Edit: He's actually tied as the cheapest player in the whole player pool. I like the value.
