GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I was at a couple Baltimore games in BAL a couple weeks back with my 11yo and we always sit front row visitor side to get max autographs and balls for him Do guys sign during the game?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Question is between the four who plays a better 3rd base. Question Two Sierra is moved or let go, Do we go to AAA where the outfielders suck against lefties or Straight to AA and bring Brad Glenn or Mike Crouse up who are raking lefties. not sure can either play cf ?

A. I think Getz has played the most 3B of them all although any of them could probably handle it. With Lawrie healthy and Bautista able to play there in an extreme pinch, I fail to see why this is relevant. B. The best option to hit LHP isn't in AA, the best option is Kratz. If it's so important to have someone who can do it, the bench should be expanded to allow for Kratz and a backup OF.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Do guys sign during the game? Nah but it's worth it. I got those seats for $100/piece both games. Got to stay at a hotel right across the street. A lot of stuff right around there to do. Was good times. I will prob go there again next year for sure ..one game Melky came over after an inning and handed him the ball. He got a couple others balls during warmups. I know you're mocking me as a casual but I am and not embarrassed about it.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I think that Kawasaki can post higher BABIPs than he has. That may not be the case though. Yeah it's a pretty defensible move once you break and down and consider all the factors. a. Familiarity with the hitting instructor and manager. b. Success so far this season (albeit it's only 18 games). c. Comparable career stats to other options. d. 40 man roster spot easy enough to open. There's really nothing wrong with Getz per say. It's the overall state of the position that is abysmal.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 It's hard to believe that we've had to spend the better part of 2 years discussing so many replacement level 2B's.

Lawrie can not play 162 games at third without a break! Kratz DOES not play the field and dickey likes thole! While the best option to hit left handed pitching is not In AAA either, so whats your point! LOl
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Jays 2B fWAR: 2011 = -0.2 2012 = -0.4 2013 = -2.0 2014 = -0.1 It's beyond embarrassing at this point. Glad to see AA has realized the deficiency at the position and moved quickly to upgrade. #owait.

I'm sorry I answered the questions you litteraly asked rather than try to makes sense of whatever your thought process is. I'll know to ignore you from now on. Replace Sierra with an OF. Swap Kratz out for one of the relievers. Use ANY of the 2B to backup 3B (Getz if you must have the one with the most 3B experience). All problems solved. I don't know what was so hard to understand about that. Edited April 29, 2014 by KingKat

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 This year could be a great buy low opportunity in acquiring Franklin.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Sign Drew? *fingers crossed* Wayyyy to expensive for someone that is going to hit .250 or less and likely to get injured. Dont forget who his agent is.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 We're not judging character. We don't know what kind of men these guys are behind closed doors. Goins is not a mlb baseball player. He sucks. You have to accept it I beg to differ. Ryan Goins is going to have a nice MLB career as a valuable bench piece.

bendera3 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Bring back Jim Negrych? He's playing for the Lancaster Barnstormers this year.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Zaun doesn't realize that Goins already has 187 PAs in the league already, and Goins, despite his glove, didn't deserve to keep a spot. He said that we should've given Goins 200-300 PAs.. we've pretty much done that already, and we know Goins can't hit.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 And so far, Negrych is hitting .500/.500/.700 with 10 PAs, 5 H and 1 RBIs. Too early, though.
derp. Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Don't have Sportsnet. What did Zaun say?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 That the Jays are a terrible organization who won't give players like Goins extended looks.. not realizing that Goins has had plenty of time to try to hit, and has failed miserably.
derp. Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Well Zaun is a tool. As much as I was rooting for Goins to have a great start he had to go.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 And even more idiotic was that Zaun just said that McGowan should've been in AAA to build his pitch count, not realizing he would've been claimed off waivers, as McGowan had no options.
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Bring back Jim Negrych? Last year he was doing well for a bit in the minors and I thought bring him up for a bit and take advantage of his hot period. Getz seems to be this years Negrych. Run him till he's cold then say good bye.
DwightDM Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 was tongue in cheek on the Negrych comment. The carousel of replacement level 2Bs needs to end... We've literally been punting a roster spot
Caper Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 You know. You have to feel for Jim Negrych. He will probably never play a major league baseball game..... But if last year was this year for him... he surely would have got his month to shine.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 16 pages of Goins didn't stick? Man, I missed you. I wanna cry on your shoulder; our team suck as f***. http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120412233941/icarly/images/0/05/Best-Cry-Ever.gif
