Notes:

MLB:

  • No Important Notes Today.

Jays:

  • Buehrle is putting together the lowest ERA in baseball and getting 19 strikeouts against only five walks over 28 innings of work. He was great again Saturday, yielding four hits in seven-plus innings of a 5-0 win at Cleveland. He has allowed two runs in 13 innings last year vs. the Red Sox. He gave up one run and scattered 10 hits over seven innings of a 2-1 victory in Toronto on Aug. 15.
  • Jose Reyes went 0/4 last night and is 5/24 (.208) with one double, one homer and four RBIs in five games since returning from a hamstring injury
  • When the Blue Jays score first this season, they are 9-2.

Red Sox:

  • Peavy gave up season highs of five runs and 10 hits with five walks - one intentional - in 5 2-3 innings while not getting a decision in a 6-5 win over the Orioles on Sunday.
  • Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli has reached base safely in a career-high 19 consecutive games. During the streak, he's batting .301 with four home runs and 10 RBIs.
  • The Red Sox have dropped three of four, thanks in large part to an overall 5.25 ERA and a 6.62 mark from the starting rotation.

Holy cock on a stick Buehrle's numbers are great this year... I knew he was doing well, but I guess I just wasn't paying enough attention...

This avatar lives forever* if he's so good through May/June that Farrell has to take him to the All Star game. LOL

Go Buerhle go

We're riding the MB train for as long as it lasts!

I think the Jays will have to score quite a few runs to win tonight and it won't be easy with Peavy coming off a bad start. Same applies tomorrow and Sunday...could be a long weekend.

Have to admit, I'm watching that first tonight and flipping to Jays during breaks.

It's been a fantastic series so far. So physical and intense. No brainer compared to watching a sleepy baseball game that the Jays are likely going to lose.

Team who wins a game 3 tie breaker wins the series 78% of the time. NBA fact. HUGE game.

He does. A lot. He just can't help himself here.

I've enjoyed watching the raps this year, but I have a feeling they are going to get crushed tonight in their first taste of playoff action on the road against a vet team. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

I don't see anything wrong with this, people should be excited about a young up and coming team that looks to have a promising future. Its a rare thing in this city.

They're an incredibly young, exciting team with a bright future. They very efficiently run as well. Great young talent with potential to add some superstars in the next few years.

Give it a few years. They'll all be on the bandwagon before long.

Wow you're really angry!

Sorry lol. I just seriously hate basketball (maybe because i'm short and suck at it).

I know you're probably just really excited that they're in the playoffs. Im just tired of seeing you post about the raptors all the time.

Yup, if this team can take the next step within the next couple years, people will flock to this team. This season has already brought a lot of spotlight on this team and people are eating it up.

If the Leafs were in the playoffs, no one* would mind some pumping up and game updates in here
