Who will I be picking for? I can do a kind of thing where if someone doesn't choose, I choose for them.

Although I'm a little busy a couple days this week. Monday, I have baseball from 5-10. Tuesday, I have a school banquet thing 5-8:30. But you guys can PM me whenever you want me to choose and I'll do it. Just make sure to keep the OP updated, makes things easier :)

Pretty weak blurb, GD.

You're mad cause I owned you in the DDL thread, won't give you Harper yet and stole your formatting.

I'm 20-7 H2H against you in that league lol.

Thanks for going with the formatting though, I watched a couple draft videos from last year to see exactly what Selig says. It's "First-Year Player Draft!" People are getting that wrong.

Yeah. If you check the thread and you see an unrepresented team hasn't been picked for just make the pick. That's basically what I've been doing. lol

I (Dayton Moore) would consider trading the #40 pick. We're going for it this year.

Looking to add a low-OBP power bat to add some thump to the lineup. Could package the pick with prospect(s).

I'll trade you Bubba + Kyle Zimmer + #40 + Eric Hosmer + Mike Moustakas + (PTBNL or Cash) for Harper + LaRoche

KANSAS CITY, MO (May 26, 2014)

The Kansas City Royals announce today that they have acquired OF BRYCE HARPER and 1B ADAM LAROCHE from the Washington Nationals and SP PHIL HUGHES from the Minnesota Twins. The Washington Nationals will pay for an undisclosed portion of Hughes' salary.

In the deal, the Nationals acquire from the Royals 1B ERIC HOSMER, 3B MIKE MOUSTAKAS, OF BUBBA STARLING, SP KYLE ZIMMER, SP YORDANO VENTURA ,the Fortieth (40th) Selection in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft and a Player To Be Named Later or Cash.

The Minnesota Twins acquire from the Royals SP MIGUEL ALMONTE.

Harper, a 21-year old who fell out of favour with the Nationals organization due to a chronic lack of hustle, is hitting .289 with 9 RBI this season. He is currently out with a thumb-related injury and will be transferred to the Royals 15-day Disabled List. Starling, Almonte and Almonte are all top prospects and will likely be transferred to a minor league affiliate of the acquiring team.

A press conference will be held tonight at Kauffman Stadium prior to the game to address this move and what it means for the Kansas City Royals organization.

I think I know the real reason why GD picked Jacob Gatewood

Solid detective work but guys with the same name as me have never worked out (Anderson, Marisnick). So nah. I just like Gatewood's power, and what other upside plays do they have in their system?

I nearly went with MG there or MC but couldn't resist the 6'5" frame.

Take over my teams GD. I won't be getting my laptop anytime soon.

Sorry to hear that Spank. :(

RHP Sean Reid-Foley out of Sandalwood HS. Plus FB that has been seen up to 97 at times, averaging around 92. Potential plus slider to go with a potential average change. Average control type guy. We see him as a potential number 2 pitcher going forward if it all goes right. We are very confident he will sign at a reasonable price as well.

Very nice.

KingKat told me he would make his picks shortly ( a few hours ago ).

Sorry about that. Things have gone poorly for me. This is going to sound crazy but my other cat died today.

No worries, obviously things in life are more important than a mock draft. Sorry to hear that.

Thanks for your understanding. It's not that I couldn't have done and in fact my the cat was already gone when I talked to you. What happened is that right after that my fiancée proposes we do a big cleanup of the appartment as a way of taking our mind off of things and it really did seem like a good idea.

Sorry to hear that Kat. So you want us to take over your 2 picks for now, or just give you a day or two? Either is fine.

With the 21st pick in the draft, the Cleveland Indians select Michael Chavis.

"We looked at a lot of different guys but ultimately we kept coming back to Chavis. There are few things more valuable in a baseball draft or really in baseball generally than an impact bat and that's Michael Chavis. We think have one of the very best players in the draft and we're thrilled to make Michael a part of what we're building here in Cleveland."

With the 22nd pick, the Dodgers select Casey Gillaspie.

There was a lot of comfort with Gillaspie within the Dodgers organization. He was one of the guys that we all liked. When you look at a guy and you like the person, you like the tools and he also happens to be in College, you can't really say no to that. He's go that great bat of course, great swing, geat power from both sides of the plate but he's also athletic, much more than you'd expect a slugging first baseman to be. To be honest, we were pleasantly surprised he was still there for us. There were a few organizations ahead of us that we felt would have a strong interest in him but he kept staying on the board and that made this decision pretty easy.

I can if no one has by tomorrow night.

I'll do Grant's pick right now if no one minds. You can do Spanky's (the Reds) in the supplemental. We should be there by tomorrow night. Hopefully. lol

With the 24th pick in the First Round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates select Monte Harrison, a center fielder from Lee's Summit West High School, Missouri.

http://www.studentsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Monte-Harrison.jpg

"Though we as an organization have enviable depth at the outfield position with the likes of Andrew McCutchen, Starling Marte, and Gregory Polanco, already in the fold, you can never go wrong in selecting the best player available and our scouts feel that Monte is that. If anything, having the positive experiences we've had in the past developing those players, gave us a certain amount of confidence in making this pick. Monte is an elite level athlete, who has a scholarship to play both football and basketball at a Division 1 college. We think he projects very well at the next level with all five tools being at least above average or plus; particularly his speed (6.65 60 yard dash time), and arm (97 mph from the outfield). Unlike many pure athletes his age, we have seen enough from him with the bat this spring that we feel comfortable he will eventually develop into an above average hitter, with enough power to profile in right field, should he be required to make that move at some point."
