S33n Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Man, I hope. But Dickey shouldn't be comfortable tomorrow in the polar vortex. I see him getting rocked really, really badly. Like 8 runs in 2 innings badly. The Twins starter has horrible stats, but I dunno. I think, 2 out of three. Good thing there most likely wont be a game, then.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I would almost not pitch Dickey Tommorow... His Knuckleball probably won't do s***. Might need Happ and Rogers to shitball through 7. I agree, but why not start him and see if it's effective, if not pull him and through a long man in. Why can't he start Friday in Cleveland if he's yanked early if the environment proved too much?

Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I had to stop listening to his show for exactly this reason. Thanks for keeping me up-to-date, I stand behind my decision. Wow Bautista looking great in CF. These recent GDT's are awful, the first 30 pages or so for the last two games are just a whole lot of complaining about the Jays based on a few innings of baseball. It was 2-0 for the Twins after two innings in unusual weather; fast forward we won 9-3 going away. Now you'd think if some of you were paying attention you'd realize we have the best bullpen in baseball and a decent offence, so as long as our starters don't get shelled we are always in games.

Not to mention all the whining about the lack of depth. It's not like other teams are loaded with all stars as back ups. Even the mighty Yankees have Dean Anna starting at SS. I watched Alfonso Soriano botch 2 balls in RF over the weekend. They had a catcher playing 1B for the injured Teixeira and this is a team with a 200M payroll. And yes, the team needs a better bench, but no f***ing team can withstand multiple regulars out injured without looking like it has no depth.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Great to see Lawrie yanking home runs in back to back games.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Great to see Lawrie yanking home runs in back to back games. Is it ever. If he and Rasmus can be healthy and productive then this offense could be killer.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Is it ever. If he and Rasmus can be healthy and productive then this offense could be killer. And defense. Let's not forget the shitshow we saw last year at 3B when he was injured. He saved a run last night.

I think complaining about fan overreaction is awfull. Fan are fans, they will over react when things go wrong, everyone is different. You complaining about it just adds t the whining. That is typical fan behaviour.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 The defense has been superb and when Reyes comes back and Lawrie and Rasmus heat up ( And they will) this team will really take off . Kawasaki should have been up with the team from the start . He takes pitches gets on base and can steal a base . just going to enjoy the season
Flamingweazel Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 The complaining was pretty well warranted at the time. Sierra was putting on a legitimate shitshow was taking place tripping on the base, playing bad defense and not knowing how many outs there were. as well as Bautista taking horrible routes to balls, Everyone was striking out on 3 pitches outside of the zone, Morrow was pitching 90MPH and getting shelled (100 pitches in 3 innings or some s***?)... Obviously if people are posting about the game, and bad things are happening, the reactions in the GDT are going to be bad. Exactly, people post based on whats happening real time, it's typical fan overreaction, but that's what many fans are like, ignore it. Posting and complaining about reaction posts is even worse, whining about whining is counter productive, you are free to ignore it. Would you rather we all be robots and not have emotions? People will be people. Nothing worse then someone being on their soap box trying to dictate how people should react.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Lawrie cannot get around on a fastball at all Lol that works Should be a GDT rule that when you whine about someone's ability in the thread you are automatically exempted from cheering when that individual does something positive.

All teams face issues when their regulars get injured, not just the Jays. Better to be surprised than disappointed I say so I've psyched myself to not expect much and enjoy the season and so far, the defense has been terrific which helps the pitching quite a bit and the offense will come around.

HAHA in fairness, he has really struggled most of the season getting around on a fastball, was an observation, not whining, unless stating an observation is whining now?
IBTrini Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Hey I thought I was an idiot for saying Lawrie looked dangerous a few days ago? Nahhhhhhhhh, don't sweat it. One comment cannot change the status quo. Just yanking your chain so don't go ballistic on me cuz I am not on meds today.
flafson Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I honestly don't know how you guys can watch the game live. Am i the only one who PVRs the game and watch it ~1 hour delayed so i could skip all the breaks?
Flamingweazel Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Well flamingweazel doesn't know what a foul ball is? WTF? You high?
IBTrini Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 And defense. Let's not forget the shitshow we saw last year at 3B when he was injured. He saved a run last night. The defensive woes last year were almost everywhere - 3B, 2B, SS, Catcher, and LF. That play by the catcher where he threw erroneously to 3B and the other botched plays for the additional runs was so reminiscent of the Jays defense last year. Hope they got that out of their system now cuz I like what I am seeing defensive-wise from the Jays. The Sierra and Bautista (playing out of position) errors are hopefully little blips.

For sure, I was just referring to Lawrie in particular. Those 2 errors by the Baltimore 3B on Friday also brought back memories, if one can call them that, of last year's disaster. No doubt, if Rasmus is out for the Cleveland series, Gose needs to be called up.

Am i the only one who PVRs the game and watch it ~1 hour delayed so i could skip all the breaks? I like the tension of live And I can't help but check the scores if a game is on and I can't watch Plus, to be totally honest, this board is such a big part of my existence now that I enjoy games most if I'm watching live and simultaneouly participating in the GDT on my tablet. I doubt I'm the only one who feels that way.

Spoonovic Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Is it safe to assume that there wont be a game today? Probably a good thing considering the injuries and the fact we have a knuckle baller up.
