No. Also, this isn't the first time it's come up in the past. The DDL uses call ups as game experience. If anything the league rules need a tweaking. We've been rolling with this since inception of the league. Idk... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, the DDL rules specifically say "service time". I don't think the issue has ever come up in the baseball leagues though - baseball players basically never debut in the playoffs.

Either way, it looks like this league has a different set of rules for this stuff and maybe it makes sense because for one reason or another hockey teams do sometimes debut players in the playoffs.

We can just tweak the rule going forward from '21 on.

We've just reached the majority for both votes. Looks like we'll be going to a dynasty with no cutdown and 1 draft next offseason. We'll also be expanding to 12 prospects next offseason.

I think it became a thing in both sports. The Twins debuted Alex Kirilloff in the playoffs.

I don't remember any NHL players debuting in the playoffs before this season either, if it did it definitely wasn't the norm.

Rule Suggestion: Similar to LoD, prospects who have been put on a) an NHL roster and B) reached the 60 game threshold, have to be promoted to your team within 14 days of their promotion, in the season following reached 60 games

It looks like three players did it in MLB this year, perhaps this was a one year blip due to the different roster rules. Before that it apparently only happened twice - Mark Kiger and Adalberto Mondesi. Not sure what the deal was with Kiger but I can see it happening with Mondesi types who can be thought of as pure pinch runners.

It's always been uncommon but there in hockey. Google says guys like Cherry, Iginla, Hull, McAvoy, Makar, Nick Robertson, Pearson, Tanev, Kreider, Mark Stone, Tom Wilson, Jannik Hansen, Doug Janik all share this debut quirk.

Fair point, the common thread there seems to be college prospects, guys like McAvoy, Makar, Kreider, etc. were all signed by teams after the NCAA season ended.

Yeah, we'll table new rules at some point after we get this years s*** done. That's an obvious rule that'll likely go through.
