burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Why? The draft was yesterday and and I didn't draft any IR or NA guys. Anyone I wanted on the waiver wire I would have just taken... Most people didn't really have time to look at the whole field when they picked in the last couple rounds.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Sami Salo = Joel Peralta ? At least it was the last pick, not like in the 8th or 9th round lol
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 At least it was the last pick, not like in the 8th or 9th round lol I bet Peralta has actually had more value than a lot of 8th/9th rounders since the draft.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 20 out of 25 You mean 15 out of 20.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Love my goalies. All 5 of em. It's gonna be so fun to roll over 2-goalie chumps.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I bet Peralta has actually had more value than a lot of 8th/9th rounders since the draft. Seager McCann Garza Fister Kendrick Niese Anibal Sanchez Chris Davis Jonathan Lucroy (NL MVP!) Hunter Pence All those guys taken in the 8th round after Peralta was drafted in the 7th.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 You mean 15 out of 20. Don't we have 25 man rosters in hockey?
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 It's gonna be so fun to roll over 2-goalie chumps. God dammit.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Don't we have 25 man rosters in hockey? No? 20. That doesn't count NA and DL slots though.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Seager McCann Garza Fister Kendrick Niese Anibal Sanchez Chris Davis Jonathan Lucroy (NL MVP!) Hunter Pence All those guys taken in the 8th round after Peralta was drafted in the 7th. But ahead of Peralta in the 7th round you have: Swisher Parker Middlebrooks Anderson Weeks Cahill Crawford Howard Rutledge Peralta was like mid-tier for the round in terms of value contributed. That's crazy.

That's crazy. Yeah that 7th round was pretty bad. All of us DDL'ers should be ashamed of ourselves!
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 At least they're the RP of the hockey world. They're more valuable in fantasy than in real life. NHL teams can pretty much choose anyone and be fine, but in fantasy you need 2-3 of the guys that NHL teams have decided to give 50+starts to.

I've scooped up a lot of goalies off the waiver wire in many of my hockey leagues before, like Pascal LeClaire, Craig Anderson, one of the Mason's, etc.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Possibly, he did well for me. My system froze, nothing I could do. That stuff happens, I hear ya! Funny how that round turned into a gong show.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I get that, just meant they're way more volatile year to year. There are some goalies I'm worried about and I'm not sure if they'll have a starting gig by years end. Won't name names.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 The top end goalies are really nice to have but guys that are backups are really tough to predict. Especially because they get all the s***** starts.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Who here is even a Leafs fan? I think we have more Leaf haters than fans.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 There are some goalies I'm worried about and I'm not sure if they'll have a starting gig by years end. Won't name names. I think Darcy Kuemper is going to be the starter in Minny by season's end. At least I hope he is. I've been waiting on him for 5 years in my other league.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Anyone think the Canes will roll with Khudobin over Ward to start the season?
Frag Verified Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Do you have some sort of perversion for the worst f***ing fantasy names? Keuchel? Kuemper? I'm pretty sure if you just started yelling that s*** in a crowded airport you'd get arrested. He should name his team Kuemper Humper. Edit: f***ing autocorrect!

BTS Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Anyone think the Canes will roll with Khudobin over Ward to start the season? They should. Khudobin is awesome.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 They should. Khudobin is awesome. I really hope so.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 HFBoards notice (may not want to read below) http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1736649 Canes fans seem to think Khudobin > Ward, as evident by the poll. Lol I like the HF boards notice. Some of the things posted on the Sens are beyond stupid.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Lol I like the HF boards notice. Some of the things posted on the Sens are beyond stupid. The Sens board is unreadable. I've been there since like 2005 and post maybe 10 times a year.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 The Sens board is unreadable. I've been there since like 2005 and post maybe 10 times a year. Yup. The hate for Condra and the love for Chris Neil is what bothers me even though its minor. Much better just following Sens Bloggers like Senschirp 6th sens and Yost (before he got the new job)
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 So for IR do players have to get injured during the season or can we put guys on IR right away with pre existing injuries?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Yeah, it'll just appear once a team deems a player injured for the regular season, same goes for day-to-day. Okay so when can I put Fisher on the IR since I was dumb enough to take him without realizing he had a ruptured achilles?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Okay so when can I put Fisher on the IR since I was dumb enough to take him without realizing he had a ruptured achilles? Whenever Yahoo lists him on the IR. Who knows when that will be (probably sometime before the rosters are cut down irl).
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Looks like Drouin is out for the next 4 weeks.
