burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 My team sucks: C Jonathan Toews C Henrik Zetterberg LW Gabriel Landeskog LW Daniel Sedin RW Joffrey Lupul RW Nathan Horton F Henrik Sedin F Charlie Coyle F Matthew Nieto D Niklas Kronwall D Christian Ehrhoff D Justin Faulk D Tyler Myers D Sergei Gonchar BN Dany Heatley BN Travis Zajac BN NA Daniel Alfredsson G Jonathan Bernier G Antti Raanta BN Evgeni Nabokov Why did you take Alfredsson lol. Your forwards aren't bad.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Dangle Factory has projections up. link?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 link? http://www.danglefactory.com/ On the front page.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Why did you take Alfredsson lol. Your forwards aren't bad. I figure take a chance to see if he comes back to Detroit - he's holding a NA slot, so nothing to lose lol. I don't think my defense is that bad as well. I think Ehrhoff, and Myers both could have bounce back years, and I do like Justin Faulk.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I think My team is going to crush everyone in the hits category pun intended?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Dangle Factory has projections up. That's literally what I was used the entire draft, then checked their yahoo player pages to see how old they were
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 That's literally what I was used the entire draft, then checked their yahoo player pages to see how old they were I speadsheeted them and then ranked them lol I meant power rankings C'mon GD, get to it, you know you want to! No s*** lol, you use projections to form pre-season power rankings. And no thanks, I don't feel like sifting through 420 VLOOKUP errors. If JFaS hasn't done it by next week and I somehow have time, sure.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 A spirited match between two good teams, Havok vs GD/Dinger, to start off the year. Gonna be a fun league boys!
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I'll look to do it sometime shortly. I used dangle factory as well, and went a little further adding an aging curve. I just standardized age. I wanted Voracek pretty bad. Was gonna draft Tarasenko but went Niemi instead. Probably should have flipped them. Would you have gone with Niemi? And I forgot to draft Gaudreau lol.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 C Stamkos C Turris LW J Staal LW Gaudreau RW Voracek RW Tarensenko F Little F Shaw F Wingels D Voynov D Brodie D Cowen D Vatanen D Russell BN Eakin BN Sobotka G Varlamov G Kuemper G Harding G Markstrom You took Turris, Tarensenko, and Little the pick before I was going to take them lol.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Wingels and Shaw are both under the radar picks that are probably gonna work out nicely. Very good team.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 So, what team is silverguns? RJ's
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Silvergun's forwards are actually pretty nice.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Silvergun's forwards are actually pretty nice. Preranked Backstrom pretty high, very nice job. Nice forwards. Goalies are a problem though lol
Frag Verified Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I also used Dangle Factory. I guess everyone using the same source results in no distinct advantage, but a huge disadvantage for those like Wilko.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I also used Dangle Factory. I guess everyone using the same source results in no distinct advantage, but a huge disadvantage for those like Wilko. You can tell who used what. I wasn't joking when I said you, JFaS and I were looking at the same spreadsheet. Granted, the way we introduced age probably created some variance in the rankings. And maybe goalie rankings were different depending on what you guys did.
Frag Verified Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Wilco rocking the St. Louis/Jagr/Iginla/Hossa old man fwd core With Drouin and Ekblad as long-term options! His team will be truly unbeatable!

I didn't adjust for age, instead opting for checking the age of each player. I underestimated how many goalies would be snatched in the first 5 rounds.

I also correctly predicted the goalie run, which helped.

Frag Verified Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Where did you guys have Blake Wheeler? Lower than where he was picked
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Where did you guys have Blake Wheeler? 45ish My good god Doogie Hauser you would be mortified if you knew how I prepared for the BBDL. I'm still mortified at how I prepared for that lol
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Who picked my prospects before i took over? Steaming pile of garbage. Might as well be John Muckler with a prospect draft like that.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Randy lol The first 2 picks were decent but it fell off a cliff after that.
Frag Verified Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I wonder if Bennett will play for the Flames this year. If not, well, at least I can watch him here in Kingston.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 What would a top nhl prospect in this league return in a trade?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 What would a top nhl prospect in this league return in a trade? Probably not as much as you would think.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Palat at 128 could be a steal - especially if he plays on a line with Stamkos (which is definitely possible). Yeah that was a good pick. Id say I wish I got him but my pick before was Saad so can't complain too much haha.
