I do like the cutdown as there is a little bit more strategy involved as to who you keep and who you don't. I'm not sure why we would really need offseason free agency anyway.

 

I think I would rather keep the cutdown and decrease the waiver draft to 3 rounds. Put everyone on waivers at the end of round 3 instead of rounds 4 and 5.

I was thinking along the same line(shortening it), such a drastic change seems unnecessary to me, especially for us longtimers, it keeps the league engaged and you see more trades. We should have a poll on additional picks if anything. I voted against the true dynasty, lol. I'm fine either way though.

- we still cut down to 15 (or some higher amount) in the offseason

- in general you can do add/drops in the offseason

- add/drops get frozen for one week before the NHL season starts. During this week everyone needs to cutdown to 15 (or whatever) and then every free agent gets placed on waivers.

 

Basically, we would just use waiver priorities to cycle the backend of our rosters rather than a laborious waiver draft.
