Sooooooo....a couple of questions that I probably should have asked earlier.

1. I have a few guys that are on IR+ right now, won't be avail for season openers. Am I allowed to add via waiver wire on yahoo to backfill these guys, or do I have to wait?

2. For the prospects that I own - am I allowed to use these at all, or do they need to hit the 60GP mark before they can be added to my roster?

You can add as long as Yahoo says you have room and a valid roster (ie, no one who is healthy but occupying an injury slot on your team). You can call a prospect up immediately, but once you do, you can never send him back down. The 60 GP limit is the mandatory games limit that a prospect has to be called up by (at the next cutdown).

Oh, never knew that about the cut down rule, I assumed you had to promote mid season if they hit the 60gp threshold. Thanks.

The season starts today! Good luck guys, thanks to everyone who helped fast track the offseason process to get the ball rolling.

Who needs a Jagr in their lineup? I'll take a bump in either the Waiver or Entry draft. Nothing big.

Also... I might lose my first pick in Shipachyov if the Knights don't figure out their roster. BS.

I could use some Jagr

2nd for 3rd waiver and Jagr, sound right, JB?

I would do that, though just looked and not sure I could make room. Yakupov has actually been decent, same with Namestnikov. Unless I drop Joe.

Dude, that's up to you. Lol, at Yakupov.

Pretty garbage that Shipachyov isn't the #1 centre right now. Apparently Vegas is too concerned about their D and wants that figured out first.

It's seriously pissing me off, he's talking about going back to the KHL, won't report to the AHL, and I don't blame him.

I keep putting myself through this (picking stat scouted older junior players, see Connor Garland), but god damn Tyler Steenbergen... have yourself a start to the year!

I have to say, the only real issue I have with this league is not being able to instantly drop players from your roster. I get and totally agree that adding free agents taking a full day to process is a good idea, but I can't understand how making a GM wait until the following day to drop a player is anything but a huge negative. It almost negates the whole IR+ spots, as you have to crystal ball the day before whether or not your injured player is going to make a return. The commish's should really look to change this idiotic roster rule.

I don't think Yahoo allows it (although I could be wrong).

yes it definitely does, as I have commished a bunch of yahoo leagues that allow instant drop next day pickup

Hmm, I took a look and you appear to be right. There doesn't seem to be an option to change it during the season though even if we wanted to, so it's something that would have to be decided in the offseason.

As someone who constantly has a full IR+, I agree.

You're still a complainer though.
