Notes:

MLB:

  • No Important Notes Today.

Jays:

  • Drew Hutchison was tagged for six runs and six hits with three walks, while hitting a batter in 3 1-3 innings of a 6-4 home loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday. That came five days after he yielded three hits with three walks in 5 1-3 scoreless innings of a 4-2 win at Tampa Bay, his first outing since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2012. In two starts against Baltimore, he went 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA. He's facing them for the first time since a 6-2 win May 28, 2012, allowing three hits with nine strikeouts in seven scoreless innings.
  • The Blue Jays are batting only .212 in the season's early stages and thier on-base percentage isn't much better at .284. Melky, however, is hitting .327 while tying Jose Bautista with a team-high four homers. The left fielder has also hit safely in all 11 games for the longest season-opening hitting streak of his career. Extending the run Saturday would make Cabrera the first member of the Blue Jays to go 12 straight games with at least one hit to start a season since Vernon Wells in 2006.
  • Jose Reyes appears to be moving closer to a rehab assignment and a return to the Blue Jays' lineup. He did some running before Friday's series opener against the Orioles and fared well. He and manager John Gibbons both said if all goes well after Reyes pushes things while running the bases Saturday, that they'll start planning details for a rehab assignment, which would eventually lead to his return.

Orioles:

  • Bud Norris wasn't sharp in his season debut last Saturday at Detroit, allowing five runs and nine hits in five innings of a 7-6 loss. Making his second start at home may not help since Norris is 2-1 with a 7.30 ERA in five starts at Baltimore.
  • The Orioles are looking to bounce back from their worst offensive display of the season, totaling five hits while being shut out for the first time Friday. They racked up 32 hits with four homers, six doubles and 19 runs while winning the previous two games.
  • Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy is expected to return after missing five games with back spasms.Baltimore hopes to have shortstop J.J. Hardy back after he missed four straight and five of six with back spasms. He's 5 for 15 in four games played.

Good job Fatcox. O's line from 5-9 is pretty soft.

Nice GDT.

Hopefully Hutch bounces back tonight. Would be real nice to take the first 2 games of this series.

Thank you guys! Hopefully I can participate in tonight's GDT unlike last night's one.

Also thanks to whoever pointed out a problem with the notes in the last GDT, it's solved now

Nice job as always, Fatcow.

What happened to Charlie's streams, by the way?

Thanks! He's not always a guarantee for Jays games I don't think. I have to check at first pitch to see if he's streaming or not

Jays have a good chance to win this one. Norris is horrible against lefties.

MEh, the jays have a tendency to lose these types of games, like the last one against Houston. BAd pitchers seem to shut this O down. Would be a good win thoguh take the first 2 on the road against the O's.

Should be an interesting game. Norris' weaknesses are too many walks and prone to the long ball. Jays are not patient and Camden is suppressing HR's right now. I really think it's got to be the middle of the order (or Rasmus) doing damage to him or it'll be lower scoring.

Out of curiosity.

How did the new members ( who have joined in the last month or two) find this board?

I like it, some cool guys, but I do find there is a hardcore segment that seems to turn on anyone who isn't a hardcore stats guys and give people s***. Need to relax lol.
