Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 When it comes to going the other way not rying to pull everything? yes he does. He rolls over alot of outside pitches, low and away. He's a dead pull hitter, he can't go opposite field with frequency because he has so much bat speed and his leg kick timing won't allow him to. Bautista is playing excellent and should stay that way.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 But walking isn't working since the guys behind him aren't cashing him in. So he's now trying to do too much. Come on guys. Just because people aren't cashing him in doesn't mean what he's doing "isn't working". He's getting on base. That's all that matters. If he isn't scoring, it's on the guys behind him, not himself. Jose has never been a guy that hits for a huge average, 2011 was a bit of an outlier in that regard. Jose is a disciplined player that hits for big power, with a consistently low BABIP, and he's at his best when he's seeing the ball and walking. It won't matter if he walks or he doubles in every plate appearance if the guys behind him aren't doing the job, he'll be stranded anyways. Bautista's doing great right now, and hopefully Edwin will break out of the slump soon.
Flamingweazel Verified Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Small sample size. Over time he'll walk a little less and hit a little more than he has so far. I really don't know why people even bother quoting stats this early in the year. Yes true, but last few years is ave been below .250.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 ITT: lots of prehistoric baseball derp.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Those are nasty cutters at 94, especially since the gun seems a bit low.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Walking is good. But the guysa rent cashing him in. He's clearly trying to do too much right now. Isn't his fault. That's not his fault, his job is to contribute by helping the team score runs, and walking gives you a guaranteed runner with no tricky BABIP luck.
Flamingweazel Verified Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Santos is filthy but he always make me nervous.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Our relievers...that's too f***ing nasty!!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 NASTY!!! it's Good Santos so far
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 It's so nice watching this s***** Orioles team struggle. It's a complete pleasure. The Orioles replaced the White Sox as my most hated team a couple seasons ago after I saw how much of a s***-stain their fanbase is. The noses on those people after making the playoffs just one time, was sickening. I really hope Jays fans aren't that f***ing obnoxious if we ever break out of the playoff drought. Orioles fans are more unjustifiably cocky than even Red Sox or Yankees fans, they act as if they've been perennial World Series contenders for a decade.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Jesus Christ that movement shouldn't be allowed when he already has a top 3 pitch in the game.

I'm sure we will be, but we won't be the ones bothered (at least as much) by it lol.
