Jays: Second baseman Maicer Izturis went 2-for-3 in the Blue Jays' 7-3 win over the Astros on Wednesday night. He now has multiple hits in five of seven games, and is hitting .455 (10-for-22). The 33-year-old batted second in the Blue Jays' lineup. With his stolen base in the seventh inning on Wednesday, Dioner Navarro swiped a bag for the first time since Sept. 7, 2009. Navarro sprung for second when Brett Lawrie swung and missed on a hit-and-run attempt. Lawrie's two-run homer in the seventh inning on Wednesday was his first of the season. Lawrie has struggled at the plate so far, hitting .121 (4/33) through eight games. Astros: Dexter Fowler pinch-hit in Tuesday's 5-2 loss, but saw a full nine innings on Wednesday for the first time since April 3. He went 1-for-3 with one run scored. Fowler is now batting a team-best .438 (7-for-16). Marc Krauss' single in the fifth inning was the first hit of the season for the Astros first baseman, snapping an 0-for-15 streak. With his single in the fourth inning, catcher Jason Castro snapped an 0-for-12 skid. L54 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Hopefully he pitches well tonight. Like to see him continue to suppress the long ball.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 Keuchel is a scrub, I bet Lawrie breaks out here! Wondering why we put Rasmus in vs. the lefty though
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 I picked Rasmus in the HR contest. Hopefully he hits one out. I don't think that's a smart move, but he does have a homer against him
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 a little late The GDT was posted before the game!! The posts are late!
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Not even 1 page for a game day thread? Time to restart a new board, this one is dead.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 No kidding, I am very unhappy with this turnout. Maybe we can jump back onto the Rays board?? Man, Melky's been hustling really hard this season, looks like he has great mobility now, like he can make any groundball in the infield a close play.

The way Melky has started the season, it is a real shame Reyes hasn't played. The two of them and Bautista could put together some good offense while the second half of the lineup has been slumping.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Melky is the least of this teams worries!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 The exodus to the Rays board was golden. Didn't we do the same thing a few years ago on the Marlins board (when we used the blue jays message board). We should do this annually
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Think most around here would not have pegged us at .500 after ten games. Small victory but let's take it! No pitcher has been perfect ( maybe buehrle) But no arms have blown off either! Small victory up till last night very few long Balls given up is a plus. The bats of some have been cold as ice and four runs will Make it hard to win games long term. Small victory rasmus appears to have a flicker Melky,Navarro and dare I say ituris have been nice surprises! Get Edwin and Lawrie hitting And a healthy Reyes back, who knows. Baseball is funny that way .... That's why they play the games! Ok bluejays !
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 So why didn't McGowan pitch this game? No Dickey effect for Orioles series now too

Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Another terrible outing for Dickey against a garbage team no less. I don't care if it was only 2 mistakes like Buck kept repeating. They were 2 HUGE mistakes.

He had lost control and we have a bullpen that could have ate 3 innings easily with Cecil Redmond Santos (if needed).
