The old board used to have threads that were basically just there for blatant non-negative homerism and it's good for the board to have those "safe places". The Kalfus thread is a bit of a special case but if it's sincere, no one should have a problem with it. I think the issue though is that a lot of us thought it was some sort of put-on by King, or by both you and King, using multiple accounts. In fact, wasn't there an IP report that suggested as much?

No, if it's a put-on it's not by King or I. King and I are peripheral contributors at this point.

It may be a put-on by friends or family of Kalfus himself. That would explain their rabid dedication and the unique IPs.

They're just a group of polite, non-confrontational posters who are passionate about their Saviour. They never disparage or disrespect any other posters in any way. They come in peace. Stop the genocide.

Has anything been found out about this yet?

I think Gsnarls looked last night and didn't find anything. I'm not sure if he pursued the 'bluejaysfan claims to live in Vancouver' lead though.

You have a mods forum? I bet its really cool.

You have no idea. Imbedded video. Free booze. No caps restrictions. Jacuzzi. Hot chick named Rachel and her sister - I forget her name. Three levels of sub-sub forum.

I have no idea why I slum it out here sometimes.

I couldn't give a s*** but I don't want to see people bitching when I start posting about other team's prospects (if I ever get time to actually watch games again) and big college games that have nothing to do with the Blue Jays. Not to mention the forum is going to get overrun by draft talk come May and three quarters of the boards won't give a s*** about it. My suggestion to the other Mods is that we wait until after the June draft to get rid of the sub-forum.

If people want to post about other team's prospects and big college games...over the Jays. Great? I doubt that happens, though. Popular threads will always stay alive....s*** people don't care about will die. f*** the sub forum. Make a thread about a college game.....if no one cares, no one will post.

Even though I am in favour of keeping the Prospect sub-forum, what we could do is sticky a thread or two in the general forum for prospects/minor leagues.

There would literally be no point in having a prospect sub forum then lol

Sorry, I should've added a qualifier to that. I meant that IF we get rid of the sub-forum, we could do a sticky or two...

That was my train of thought as well! If the prospects/minor league thread is stickied, the "clutter" would be non existent. It would always stay at the top above the other MLB threads.

Perfect!

Same wavelength, buddy. Same wavelength.

I have just gave this more thought. While taking a s***. We should bring the minor league thing over on the main one. And change the minor one to a Kalfus thing. That'll keep the Kalfus family and friends thing going. Its a win win win win situation.

I have to agree with some because I also used to love reading John Havok's daily minor league recap on the old board, but lost interest once they were moved to the new subforum. One new thread a day won't clutter the main page and is also a good way to talk up young guys before the draft that some like me aren't aware of.

I think that we should delay this decision until after the draft and see what kind of traffic we get then. I think discussing draft prospects, scouting reports, and mocks would be very frustrating and difficult to keep track of on the main forum.

Basically, this is a terrible time to make this poll. There is nothing to talk about yet, of course it's dead.

Grant and I are in agreement

Grant and Hurl are on to something, and admin was in agreement. They feel that the draft, before, during and after, will generate a lot of discussion. There will be times of the year when discussion goes up and then down in the sub forum, quiet times being not a huge deal.

Also, more importantly, we are still hoping that the site grows, with more posters. It seems like this is happening actually, with several new contributors recently and a a lot of new threads. The site feels bigger and more complete by having the separate minors/prospects forum. For NOW, we are going to leave it as is. We will reconsider this around the all star break.

I will personally make more of a point of contributing to the discussion in the minors threads, and in policing that area too.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I can't hit the Thanks button enough times to convey my appreciation.

Why not have the daily minor league GDT on the main forum and move it back to the minor league forum at the end of the day? I don't see why that would be a problem, I mean, there are unnecessary threads started every other day on the main forum and I don't see much of a problem.

At least we wouldn't have to leave the main forum to check on how the minor leaguers are doing in their games. After all, following the few prospects is one of the things some of us were looking forward to doing given the iffy MLB team we expect.
