Putting words in his mouth makes you look dumn.

Ok I'm dumn:

Ok lets have a few more balls get over his head before you change his mind. Hes an average CF would be really good in LF. Fans need to get over this illusion hes an outstanding defensive player.

Very, very dumn

The IQ these posts would suggest is probably around Goins' projected wRC+

I'm out lol

I think Goins's projections might be higher lol

Where did he same Gibbons needs to play him in LF every day

So do you guys think they should've won yesterday after all dat bad luck? Today too? They should be undefeated!

Find a quote where anyone implies that we should be winning today or should have won yesterday, DO IT.

I don't like the term positional value first off. That implies good offence at a defensive first position. Which I think Colby is average. While I feel Colby is a good defensive outfielder is because he takes strong routes and can make plays when he gets there. I think other CF's can make more plays. He doesn't have great closing speed or a strong throwing arm which I consider extremely important to the position where you cover the most ground.

People will disagree thats fine. But LF is a more natural fit for Colby and he has more then enough offence to warrant playing LF.

I agree, but these guys never will as long as their stats say otherwise

Don't waste your time arguing with people who think Colby should be playing LF on this team. They're acting like Gose or Diaz at CF (Inferring from their posts) and Colby in left is much better lmao

We might agree to disagree here, but Rasmus most definitely covers a lot of ground, of course other CF's make more plays, he's not Bourjous. And re: the positional value thing, it's basically providing the same offense at LF, a less valuable position, or at CF, a more valuable one, not that hard to comprehend.

First of all, all i said was that the outfield D was bad today.

Second, Gose in center and Rasmus in LF is much better defense than what we have now

Doesn't make it the bible because its the best we got. I don't trust in what is inconsistent. Doesn't mean I don't look at it. I just don't value it as highly as you do or even close maybe.

But then why trust anything? You surely trust something if you're so adamant about Colby being in LF, but if you're not going to accept that no stat or viewpoint is absolutely 100% perfect, then why even bother?

No stat is perfect. No eye test is perfect. We go with the best we've got and DRS/UZR >>> eye test.

I'm asking you

Ok, here's a quote that clearly demonstrates John's thoughts on Rasmus' position:

"When will they realize Rasmus isn't a CF hes a LF."

"Hes an average CF would be really good in LF" oh look another.

Some SABR-bro answer this for me: all I've heard for days is how unlucky our pitchers have been. So do you think our record has be ravaged by bad luck even though we've been badly out scored and overmatched in our losses

my problem is that Colby is not reading the ball off the bat so far this year. he's not making the plays coming in or going back. he's been better...

at the plate he is back to leaking out really early. he's selling out and letting his front shoulder pull out. only hit he has was on a mistake up and in. he'll hit that fastball all day long but cant touch a breaking ball which is what he is going to see until he changes.

Except that what Gose makes up in defense he loses badly on offense.

This right here shows just how naive you and a lot of SABER believers are. The ball was down and on the outside corner of the plate. Impossible to hit. It has nothing to do with luck or BABIP.

Uh oh, you're gonna wake up bug, bad JFAS, king of the trolls. "It doesn't matter where the pitch is if its hit, it's all the same"

Get ready for Goins/Diaz/Thole lineup tomorrow! LOL. All because Dickhead needs his personal catcher!

That's an insult to Diaz!

We sure as hell do a lot of losing. Incredibly mediocre over the last 21 years and counting.

yeah but it's mostly bad luck. 21 years of bloop singles and biased umps.
