2 pitches. That's all it took

Im pretty sure it was 3. Strike down the middle, ball low, then the liner to CF

Anyways, Reyes won't be back until May

This is one of the reasons I hate that hillbilly f*** Gibbons. Reyes should not have been at short in Montreal. I felt funny hearing he was starting.

Gibbons is not at fault for the team that he's been given, but I do agree that he isn't the right manager for this team. These clowns need a disciplinarian running the show.

Can't sugar coat this s*** anymore. If they aren't on the phone right now with Drew this team is a joke. No point relying on Reyes any longer and sign Drew for 2 years or whatever he wants.

We should sign Drew to a multi-year contract right now and dump Reyes in the offseason. We REALLY need to get rid of his contract

Come on, the issue is that 2B and middle infield depth was an issue since last year and they did nothing about it all off season.

I've said sign drew...I'm not on the goins bandwagon either. I think Kawasaki would be better than goins, but this team has enough offense...it needs pitching. The issue of second is a lot more glaring when Reyes is not in the lineup, but Reyes should be back soon. The Yankees won games without jeter, tex, and granderson last year. They only scored 650 runs last year. The Jays had 712 runs last year. We need to pitch!

At times like these, we should all try not to lose track of what's really important.

Sure, we have an injury prone shortstop that we're paying $18 million a season too and sure we gave up a ton of cheap, controllable talent to get him, and the other mediocre players with giant-sized contracts, assuring no payroll flexibility for the next four years.

But, at least we can take pride in the fact that our current shortstop hasn't said anything homophobic. That's whats really important here.

Wait till they find out that his Loviste is actually a homophobic gesture

For whatever it's worth, DL'ing Reyes is the right thing to do...it's just that it should've been done last week.

I'll take that bet...if Reyes is back before May I win...if he isn't back until after may 1 you win....loser can't post for 2 weeks?

I'm just pissed that he wasn't properly rested and he played for no good reason. This is all on the hillbilly f***.

I disagree. It's partly on Reyes and the rest of the blame is on the medical staff/AA/Beeston. I'm sure they wanted to have him play in MTL for marketing reasons.

When you think about it, he looked really awful in those at bats.

Im sure you are right. That's why this org sucks. All they care about is marketing.

Pretty much. PR/marketing is a big part of why Escobar was dumped for nothing, thus making Reyes and his contract an attractive option. Marlins wanted Hech, the Jays insisted they take Escobar's contract off their hands since they had decided he had to go so finding a taker for his contract was a plus for the Jays, even if it's a great contract.

I posted this earlier but had we not done the 2012-13 offseason trades after the Farrell trade:

LF Melky

RF Bautista

1B EE

DH Lind

3B Lawrie

CF Rasmus

C TDA

SS Escobar

2B Aviles

Bench: C Mathis/Gomes/Navarro(If we chose to sign him)/Kratz(Best post-Farrell trade?), INF Hech, OF Sierra, another bench player

Morrow

Alvarez

Synder

Hutch

McGowan

Same old BP minus Rogers and plus Silston

Farm pieces: Nicolino, Marisnick, DeSclafani + extra

Payroll: Probably near San Diego's payroll of $92MM. We could have easily used up to $20MM AAV for a #1 in the offseason and not get burned

When somebody posted that he was starting at short in Montreal I thought wow. The training staff should have been on this. That's part of the managers crew. If they said he was fine then fire them. This is last year all over.
