G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Diaz is not better than Kawasaki. f***ing Christ. 1 game and I'm despaired as f***. So... No Drew?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Diaz is not better than Kawasaki. f***ing Christ. 1 game and I'm despaired as f***. How could AA and Beeston not get desperate here? They must have received reassurance from the new head of Rogers that they at least have another few years to sort this s*** out. This is not the behaviour of a person who thinks his job is on the line.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Haha. Im pretty sure everyone here predicted this. I expected Reyes to play for at least a few games before re-injuring his hammy and hitting the DL though. If we don't sign Drew... I just don't know what to say.
Pete_7 Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 What did this organization do to piss off the baseball gods?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 This is disgusting. No depth..... at all? We have Kawazaki. Not sure why we went with Diaz. I actually am stumped. They want too keep Goins at 2B, so Kawa and Diaz can play SS. Kawa and Diaz are same defensively in my eyes. Except Diaz is worse than Goins with the bat. So what the f***
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Per Davidi When they said they wouldn't move Goins to SS, that pretty much dictated Diaz. Gosh that end of the lineup is going to be brutal.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 It took ONE f***ING GAME for s*** to blow up. Wow.

So what the f*** Isn't Diaz a bit of a defensive specialist? Doesn't he draw John MacDonald comparisons?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 It took ONE f***ING GAME for s*** to blow up. Wow. Last year it took until Kansas City lol
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Isn't Diaz a bit of a defensive specialist? Doesn't he draw John MacDonald comparisons? So? He can't hit! I would have preferred Kawazaki to Goins at 2B if they let Kawa play 2B.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Diaz' career minor league slash line (3111 PA) .230/.358/.297 Aw jeez
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 My guess is that Diaz got the call because of his versatility(2B, 3B, SS, OF) and his ability to take a walk (47 BBs in AAA last year with the Red Sox). Still, Reyes hopefully will be back soon, although he was struggling this spring as well. They didn't call him up for his bat..
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I don't get why Kawasaki didn't get the call? He was probably the most fundamentally sound guy we had on the team for large stretches last year. At least he doesn't K all that much and can draw a walk.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Last year it took until Kansas City lol Next year, Dickey will have a stroke on the first day of ST
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 It took 2 f***ING PITCHES or s*** to blow up. Wow. ftfy Diaz' career minor league slash line (3111 PA) .230/.358/.297 Aw jeez SSS!!!!!! NEEDS MLB ABS PLS
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Well, to put my Wilner hat on for a second This is not a grade 2 ankle sprain And Lawrie isn't on the DL to start the season like he was last year / silver lining
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 ftfy SSS!!!!!! NEEDS MLB ABS PLS SSS? That's 8 seasons of minor league ball.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I don't get it either. Kawasaki is the best middle-infielder in the organization outside of Reyes. Watch it be something dumb like burning an option when we have 3 catchers on the team (2 with options) lol
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Most likely because Diaz and Kawasaki are similar players, with Diaz having a better glove.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 SSS? That's 8 seasons of minor league ball. I'm trying to echo the front office here!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I don't get it either. Kawasaki is the best middle-infielder in the organization outside of Reyes. And he's just so god damn lovable.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I don't get it either. Kawasaki is the best middle-infielder in the organization outside of Reyes. There is something fundamentally and depressingly wrong with that statement.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I'm sure Seitzer can tweak Diaz's swing and turn him into a .300 hitter.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Does Diaz start tomorrow do you guys think?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Most likely because Diaz and Kawasaki are similar players, with Diaz having a better glove. Huh? But Kawazaki's still damn good and better than Diaz at everything else including marketing the team
