o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Almost time for the new season to start and it's a good time to take a look at 2014. on almost every team there is a player that fans dont like. that person has been JPA for the jays over the last couple of years. who will be the player fans will hate on this year? I'd put money on it being one of these five. Sierra Rasmus Lind Izturis Goins

Honestly this team looks to be way more likeable than last year. I think Goins surprisingly won't get as much hate as we might think on here.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I don't hate any of those players as all, I hate the FO for thinking Izturis, Goins and Sierra are somehow beneficial to a baseball team in any capacity.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Rasmus is one of the more likeable guys on the team in my opinion. Dude just shuts up and plays the game hard.

I'm really enjoying watching Goins play D, but it will be intolerable if he hits under .200. Lind looks to have his head on straight this year, but fans will turn fast if he falls off offensively and the same goes for Sierra who will have to hit when he gets chances to play. I think Izturis is just unacceptable and the team is going to have to put up with him because AA gave him a stupid contract. like you said, if he plays too much, he's going to catch it.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Navarro that's a guy I wouldn't have expected.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Goins and Sierra. Goins D will be outstanding. very different from having Bumfiasco playing s***** D to match his pathetic bat. how well does Goins have to hit for people to accept him?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 This thread is pretty dumb, just saying. Yup. Why hate on players unless they deserve it? With JPA, he ran his mouth off, twitter, etc. he gave people a reason to hate him. With a guy like Goins, all he ever did wrong was NOTHING. It's not his fault AA couldn't or didn't find a better option.

He's going to play to the best of abilities, and in this case it's great defence and no bat you can't hate him for that

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Stroman Oooh. Controversial choice.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I say J A Mutherf***in' Happ
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Morrow for sure...... Also possible. Love the guy's talent but the broken down piece of s*** will get on some nerves this year if he has another 2013.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Bautista Jose has looked pretty good this spring. he hasn't been as whiny as he had gotten the past couple of years. that would be a good trend. his whining carried over to other players last year.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Bautista Nah He's prickly but people still want him on the team Especially if he OPS's 1.050 this year
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I predict a "Goins egregious mistake tracking thread" by the time of the home opener.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Nah He's prickly but people still want him on the team Especially if he OPS's 1.050 this year My theory was that if the team is struggling the F.O. will allow/instruct the media to be negative about him this year so they can trade him. If the media in Toronto is negative about Jose you know he'll go off.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Im gonna go ahead and guess Stroman. He is a very twitter-centric player, and it could blow up if he hits the majors and stinks it up.

He started making a bit of noise in mid 2012 and I suspect this noise may have helped to push the FO to try to speed up the rebuild. I have no proof of course!

That's sort of what I'm saying...the Jays are s*** scared to fracture the fanbase IMO. So they do what they can to get Bautista to request the trade. All it takes is for AA to talk about lacking veteran leadership in some interview and have his go to sportswriter write that they think Bautista isn't pulling his weight on the leadership end and have AA not truly publicly support it and that should be enough to blow Jose up.
