John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Monell works to 3-2, and takes a full count walk.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Pinch hitter Joseph flies out to end the inning. Jays to the bottom of the 10th down 3-2. Due up, Goedert, Lind's spot and Diaz.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Goedert grounds out to 3b. 1 out.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Kratz hitting for Lind. Outside ball 1, outside ball 2. ground ball foul 3b line, 2-1. ground ball foul 3b line, 2-2. Ground ball over the bag at 3B for a double! Jonathan Diaz up. 1 out with the tying run at 2b, winning run at the plate.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Diaz takes ball 1, then a wild pitch moves up Kratz to 3B. 1 out. 2-0 count. Takes high ball 3. IF playing about halfway s omay be coming home on contact. Ball 4. Runners 1st and 3rd with 1 out, winning run on 1b with Dan Johnson coming up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 LHB Johnson facing a lefty here, needs to stay out of a double play. Takes ball 1, then strike 1. Outside, 2-1. Swing and miss on a slider down and away, 2-2. Johnson line drive base hit into RF, scores Kratz from third and Diaz can only move up to 2b with the ball hit so hard.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Tie game, Josh Thole up with the winning run on 2b, again needs to stay out of the double play. 1-1 count, Thole screams a foul ball down the 3B line into the crowd, 1-2. Outside on a slider down and away, 2-2. Outside again, 3-2. Gibbons sends the runners on the 3-2 count, Thole bounces a slow chopper to 2b, throws to 1b for the out, but Diaz was flying around third all the way, throw to the plate is late, Diaz slides in to score the winner ! 4-3 Jays in a walk off!

Can only get a pretty basic feel only hearing it on the radio, but it sounded like he was throwing really well. 2 of the hits were hard contact, threw some great curveballs, got pretty much nothing but Ks and grounders except for the double.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I had estimated 75 pitches for Redmond, according to Wilner he threw 73 over his 5 innings. Not bad.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Thanks for the play by play JH.

Good to hear! Thanks Havok.

Almost fully stretched out! The season is getting awfully close. Redmond has put himself in the conversation for the 5th starting spot. From what I saw last season I think he has at least a few more years as a back-end guy. Whether he starts the year with the Jays or not he is going to get some MLB innings and have an impact on their season.

He looked really good, was able to throw his curveball for strikes, a couple of solid hits but he induced a ton of weakly hit ground balls with that 97 mph sinking fastball
