jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Redmond gets ahead 0-1, then gets Almanzar to pop out to Lawrie. Bottom of the second coming up. Atta boy, Redmond.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Lind leading off the bottom of the second. Hits a grounder up the middle, but soft enough that the 2B easily gets hit and throws him out. 1 down. Cabrera hits a first-pitch flyball to RF, 2 outs. Lawrie up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Lawrie works the count to 3-1, then swings at a very borderline pitch and fouls it off. Then 3-2, Lawrie hits it to the gap in LF, but the wind today causes it to hang up and Jones makes the catch. 3 down. Berry, Weeks and Schoop due up for the O's in the top of the third.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Berry drops down a bunt down third base line, Redmond bare-hands it and throws him out. 1 out. Weeks up
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Weeks hammers one to CF on an 0-1 count, Rasmus on his horse and tracks it down on a dead run. Wind definitely kept it in the park. 2 out. Schoop hits an 0-1 grounder to short, Reyes throws him out. 3 outs on 5 pitches. (this took longer to type than the entire half inning) Navarro, Goins, Reyes due up in the bottom of the third.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Navarro takes strike 1, then hits a routine grounder to third. 1 out. Goins takes strike 1, then hits a routine grounder to short. 2 out. Reyes takes ball 1, then tried a bunt to third, was a good one but trickled foul. 1-1. Weak grounder to 1b side that Reyes thought was going to go foul. Another quick half inning. On to the 4th with Urrutia, Jones and Clevenger due up.
Convo Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Redmond 1-2-3 We have a winner for the #5 spot, haha. Pretty much how things are being determined this spring
Convo Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 So is Navarro going to be his 2009-2011 self or his 2012-2013 self? Seems a toss-up with this guy.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Urrutia hits one hard to Lawrie on a 2-2 count, guns him out. Jones hits a weak chopper just over the mound and Reyes can't barehand it, Jones with a dribbler infield single. 1 out, Jones on first. Strike 1 to Clevenger, then a wild pitch and Jones moves up to 2nd. Ball went right through the 5-hole on Navarro. Remond throws a curve on the 1-1 count and misses, then on 2-1, Clevenger hits a double over the head of Cabrera on a ball left up in the zone, Jones scores. 1-0 for the Orioles, Clevenger on 2nd with Reimold up.

Strike 1 to Clevenger Reyes' mediocre defense in the most important defensive position... guy is just not worth the $22mil he's going to be earning in the next 4 years

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Reimold 1-2, drops down and throws a breaker, misses but Navarro able to keep it front of him. 2-2 pitch fouled off. Slider misses 3-2. Fastball swing and miss strike 3. 2 outs, runner still on second, Flaherty up. Aaron Sanchez scheduled to follow Redmond today.

I think he's clearly going to be 2009 go 2011 self. We've had 25 sporadic at bats in spring training. It seems pretty clear to me.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Redmond goes 2-0, then comes back with a questionable strike 1, radio gives credit to Navarro for a good frame. Then Flaherty rings one off the RF wall for an RBI double, Redmond left it up in the zone again. 2-0 Orioles, Flaherty on second. Pete Walker goes to tell Redmond to stop sucking. Almanzar up.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Redmond should be a long man in the bullpen...not a starter.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Why is mlb making you pay for the audio feed now? Wasn't it supposed to be free for spring? Went to game day then clicked on Audio then used my mlb credentials even though I do not have mlbtv and it works. If you don't have an mlb account just create one.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 This is about when Redmond gets rocked.

flafson Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Redmond should be a long man in the bullpen...not a starter. Yea, problem is, he's probably the closest #5 starter we have now, unless you count on Happ.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Redmond gets 0-2 on Almanzar, almost hits him to go 1-2, then up and in again 2-2, swinging strike 3. 2-0 on a couple of RBI doubles from Flaherty and Clevenger. Colby, Bautista and Edwin up in the bottom of the 4th
Convo Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Redmond should be a long man in the bullpen...not a starter. Redmond strongly disagrees with you!
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Rasmus hits the 0-1 pitch to LF, flies out. Redmond 61 pitches unofficially through 4, should be back out for the 5th. Bautista up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Bautista takes ball 1, (Wilner jinxes the organization by stating so far no Jays pitcher has left a game due to injury, was talking about Niese leaving the game for the Mets) Bautista works 3-1, got a fastball and fouls it straight back. 3-2. Fouls another 2 grooved fastballs straight back (first AB, Gonzalez threw nothing but breakers in hitter counts and full count). Bautista strikes out swinging on a high fastball. 2 outs. Edwin up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Edwin, first pitch Curveball strike. then takes ball 1. 1-1 pitch, borderline strike on the outer half. 1-2. way high for ball 2. 2-2 pitch smashed through the SS/3B hole for a single. 2 outs, Lind up Lind watches the outer half strike fastball 1, then watches outside ball 1. next pitch fouled off 1-2. Outside ball 2 but barely according to Wilner, Lind clearly not looking to hit anything on the outer half. next pitch, same spot, 3-2. Runner will be going on the full count pitch, foul down the LF line out of play. They have the shift on for Lind. Edwin going on the pitch, Lind lines it into left centre but JOnes gets on it quickly and Edwin cant go to third. 1st and 2nd, 2 outs. Melky up.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 melky delivers...EE avoids the tag at home
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Melky grounds it up the middle for a base hit, Edwin able to score as the throw was up the 3- line a bit and catcher missed the swipe tag, Jones had him gunned if the throw was on target. 2-1. Lind not able to go to third, so still 1st and 2nd, with 2 outs, Lawrie up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Strike 1 called, then Ball 1 up and away to Lawrie. 1-1 Curveball fouled off, count now 1-2. Lawrie grounder up the middle for a base hit, but slothy Lind gets held up at third. Jones again on the ball quickly. Bases loaded, 2 outs. Navarro up.
